This is my hairloss journey plan I think would be helpful: 1 -Organic DHT blockers to start with (weak dht blockers) + minoxidil 2- Proceed to finasteride if problem still persists (stronger dht blockers) + minoxidil 3- if you're having kids, stop fin for 2 months but since you can't take fin, try Platelet rich plasma therapy (assuming by this time you're rich enough to afford bringing up a kid, you could go for the slightly more expensive treatments over this duration) 4 -Go back on fin after that + minoxidil 5 -(BONUS): Hair transplant (FUE) - this can be done anytime (but usually people do it after mid-late 20s at least / Avoid hats if you can after this! :) Always-Look out for better technologies.. .e.g. (breezula is a topic cream which blocks hair fall but does not lower overall DHTin body, dermarolling has been proven more effective in conjunction with minoxidil) Do not use hair loss as an excuse to stop working out, be your best- minimize insecurities and stay fit! With proper discipline and planning, you can achieve your dreams, keep your dream house, girl, car and.... even your HAIR! Good luck to all my brothers out there. P.S. @varun0094 жыл бұрын
Minoxidil is a stimulant. Look at it this way - each hair is a tower under attack. Finasteride will shield the tower from the attack, but cannot raise a tower that has already been leveled. Minoxidil is like a potentially good and energetic stone Mason who bolsters the foundations of the tower while under attack to prevent collapse. Finasteride works with great efficacy in most men. Ultimately you want to prevent as much damage to your follicles as possible. Even the world's most potent steroid cocktail won't bring a dead man back to life.

Yes I’m wondering too what he means by up to 5 years? Will it stop working? Will side effect has more chance to experience after 5 years?
@oaportfolio42483 жыл бұрын
I doubt it. My dad's been on it for 20+ years, he's in his early 50's now and still has a full set of hair. You wouldn't think he's prone to hair loss. He obviously addressed the issue early. I know of many others that have been on it for years too so i honestly doubt it'll lose it's effectiveness beyond 5 years. Unless he means it'll help regrow hair within 5 years but after 5 years it'll just maintain what you currently have until you stop the drug completely..
@zequinha3403 жыл бұрын
No, it means they can only tell you on paper that is efficious up to 5 years because there are only studies with the duration of five years at most , but in a practical way it's obvious that is efficacious forever. One thing to note is that studies show that you can only regrow thinning hair up to 2 years, after that hair count starts to decline, but declines at much slower rate than if you didn't use it. Hope this is helpful
@oaportfolio42483 жыл бұрын
@@zequinha340 Oh right. That makes more sense. I think it also boils down to the severity of hairloss and how much ground you have to recover. Having density below 50% is too late in my eyes to rely on medication alone. That's when you'll have to consider hair transplant.

@codybell68824 жыл бұрын
Thats because most of them are unfamiliar with the actual facts around the drug. Much like common people when they dont do research into it. If you look up finasteride, the first thing you'll see plastered everywhere is "Drug causes permanent ED!!!!" But this is quite inaccurate. Yes some people may experience persistent sides, but the chances are substantially low and no real study has shown any permanent impact of fin other than perhaps psychological. On 1mg the chances of Sexual side effects are about 1 in 31. Which is very low. Look at meds like SSRIs, so many tens of millions around the world take them, and the frequency of ED and Libido loss wity those drugs sometimes run upwards of 60-70%. The largest impact that Fin has is a psychological effect for most patients. ED can very much be caused by excessive worrying. It has been proven in studies that a nocebo effect is common with Finasteride. Dermatologists know this because they have a lot of experience around the drug and have read up on a lot of the facts. Primary care physicians or other doctors are not as well informed as the experts. They, just like everyone else who doesn't know it are alarmed by the reports that inaccurately portray the risks.
@abhinandanrocks4 жыл бұрын
Cody Bell Man 1 in 31 is extremely high for such side effect. Why dont you think from person perspective who turn out to be that 1 in 31 . Its easier to consider this as low when you are lucky

Bill Perri In all likelihood yes you can, if the follicles are still producing hairs (miniaturized hairs). If you have been shiny bald for 3 years and the hair follicles are completely gone, you probably won’t get your hair back. But even if you don’t grow a single new hair, the thickening of your existing miniaturized hairs back to their normal thickness can improve your appearance.

I have stopped taking finasteride for last two month. before that, i was on finasteride for almost 2 years. look like my hair thinning is started again. currently, I am on PRP, follihair and minoxidil once in a day. when i can start the finasteride again. or anything else i can try till the time baby is conceived.

What if i take finasteride as soon as i woke up? (Like 7am) because i heard testosterone level is at peak in early morning
@Khomann4 жыл бұрын
it doesn't matter what time of day you take it, so long as its consistent. Make sure to always take it in the morning, and if you don't remember to take it until afternoon, skip it that day and just take the next pill the following morning

Doctor does dutacet can increase the risk of prostate cancer? As I am taking dutacet but reading that dutasteride increases the risk of high grade prostate cancer but silently. Kindly reply as I am using dutacet from last one month. Is there anyone who is using the same medication dutacet or dutasteride? Also does finasteride is safe as compared to dutasteride and does it give results, anyone got the good results from finasteride. I have spend much money on medications so cannot consult any doctor further for the same. Would be thankful if you or any user replied my question free.

Imagine you are playing a Song and pausing for sometime,,, resuming after a while the song continues to play from where it was paused ...same thing applies As long as Finasteride present in your blood stream you either slow down or regrow your hair...once its out of the system you MPB progression will resumed ........don't cut off finasteride suddenly it will cause teleogen effluvium ...you should lower the dose gradually untill you cut off permanently... Like from 1mg/ day To. --- 1mg/2days ,,,then 1/mg 3 days ..then 1mg /4 days ...then 1mg /days like that

What about post finesteride syndrome PFS .Is it a joke
@codybell68824 жыл бұрын
PFS is not a joke but is overblown. There is very slight evidence to support that about 0.8% of people may experience side effects after the drug is discontinued, but no evidence to support that it is physiological. Men who experience persistent ED or libido loss after discontinuation are suffering what is called a Nocebo effect,which is psychological. It is serious and can cause just as many sexual issues as physical. And in many cases substanially harder to treat and resolve. Something that is often overlooked with Finasteride is that it may cause depressive mood changes as the 5AR does play a role in mood and happiness overall. Depression can also very much cause those very same sexual dysfunction. If you've been taking finasteride for a while and youre one of the unlucky few who's bodys dont normalize the hormone changes you will probably experience persistent side effects during treatment. Which will have a negative impact on your physical and especially mental health. Discontinuing the treatment will not resolve the psychological damage that may have resulted from the adverse reaction to the drug. That is why PFS exists to some extent, but its not pharmacological and it can be resolved, albeit not easily.

I took it for 6 years without any side effects. Starting taking it daily and then ~1.25mg every second day. My beard wasn't fully developed so I stopped taking finasteride as I thought it may slow down the development. After 2-3 years without finasteride my beard is well developed and I'm thinking of taking it again.

On sexual side i think if you dont use it you lose it so i think as long and you use it down there regular it wll all be fine, thats how i look at it. On results side i shed abit first 2week i think it was all the little fine hairs that fell out and thicker hairs remained, now thicker hairs seem abit thicker and on crown area i can see really fine baby hairs are back again so hopefully they come out thicker. I Hope you find something that works for you mate whether ot be fin or not.
