Within my first week of starting finisteride, my libido went haywire. It was either stupidly high on one day, or stupidly low on another. Zero happy medium. Also, my balls hurt on a sporadic basis. After hearing about all the sexual side effects, this experience scared me into swearing off the drug, to which I stopped completely and made a doctors appointment. My doctor explained to me that most men usually see some side effects at the start, and that their body's just need some time to adjust to the medication. My declaration against using fin started to wear off after about three weeks after that scare I mentioned, and I decided to give it another shot. This time though, zero side effects. In fact, this time my libido actually raised higher to where I was like in high school all over again. No more rollercoastering, and the best part is, it's stood that way for three years now. Everything is still fine, and my hair-loss completely halted. Mixed in with oral minoxidil, I even grew some back. I guess within that one scary week when I first started using the drug, my body had been adjusting itself to some changes due to the medication, then three weeks later I was good to go. Things have been great three years out.

I took finasteride for around 3 months. I was actually ok the first couple weeks and then it just felt like my body completely crashed. I battled on and said that my body will hopefully adjust. At the 3 month mark I couldn't take it anymore. I was having to take cialis just to get it up. Also the way it changes your mood and personality is very scary. I remember my partner pleading with me to stop the drug. A deep dark depression that you just lose all emotions with. I'm also on TRT so I thought this would actually help balance out the side effects. Sadly it didn't. This was a few years ago and since then I've easily lost 50% of my hair. Yes it's miserable but it's nowhere near as bad as how I felt on finasteride. I swore to my partner I would never use it again. This won't be everyone but myself and 2 friends had those exact same outcomes. This drug isn't as low risk as what of these people selling it are saying. If you do try it then please just monitor your mood also. I know losing hair is stressful but feeling like you want to jump off a cliff everyday is also stressful.

For men I would say the first three side effects listed would be a big NO. Sounds a lot like all the sexual side effects with antidepressants. Not sure if I am joining late to the party, but I'd like to share my experience with finasteride. I started my hair loss journey when I was 23 (it shattered me). Coming from a third world country I couldn't find finasteride (Propecia) at time at the pharmacy and I had to order it online (mind you this was 9 yrs ago). I was paying $150 for 29 pills, unfortunately I couldn't afford it after 1 month. 2 years later I visited the same dermatologist that assisted me the first time and l told me to try generic finasteride 5mg. I have been taking it for over 4 yrs now and the results are noticeable. Mind you I split the pill by 4 and sometimes the mg are not exact. Of course I don't have the same density I had when I was 23, but the growth is there. My hair still falls, but not excessive. Libido, well, I am just a guy 😂 and I have those days, if you know what I mean. Long story short, GO FOR IT before it is too late.
