Actually pea puffers dont need snails to trim their teeths down just because the pea puffers teeth are growing so slowly that isnt even a problem , you can feed them only bloodworms for their entire life Next thing is about plants , theres not enough plants and hiding space for these little guy Think about upgrading your setup soon because they will need at least 10-15 gallons ,as many ppl said , they are territorial ,really Good luck with keeping puffers ;)
@jorgelara84324 жыл бұрын
@it wasnt bris fault pea puffers dont require snails there teeth grow slow enough for u not to give them snails they could just live on frozen blood worms and brine shrimp

That tank with 4 of them? No way. If you're gonna use it you need a lot more plants in there, they're very territorial and will tear each other apart. Also, pea puffers don't get overgrown beaks like larger puffers.
@deadfred8214 жыл бұрын
I kinda had the feeling you already had something in mind for that tank; great choice btw. On a related note, the pea/dwarf pufferfish don't need shells to file down their teeth because they don't have that insane growth that the larger puffers teeth have. Those snails are a great addition though, they love live food(s) & will also go bonkers for bloodworms. Also, you might want some more plants or hiding places cause they are viscous little gremlins that will tear each other apart if the slightest altercation occurs.

Oooahatve!!!! Dood do your research, the minimum tank size for a pea puffer is five gallons, and if you are going to have more then one the tank has to be much bigger, because they are extremely territorial and aggressive, also they are the only puffer that does not have to be fed things to where down there teath because there teath barely grow at all throught there life time, also they are not a brackish water species. P.s I love your videos and watch them all the time and I am telling you this because I hate you or because I want to be mean. I hope you take my advice seriously and save the puffers,!😀

hey. pea puffers are the only puffers whose teeth do not grow through. that is why they do not necessarily need snails while they do enjoy it. and pea puffers are completely freshwater species. and they also have no scales, so adding aquarium salt is extremely bad for this species. it irritates their skin very much. please do a large water change as soon as possible. a nice aquascape and i love your videos greetz Ramon from the netherlands

What’s your experience with pea puffers? I’ve been considering getting a few but can’t decide between those or guppies. Any advise for a newer fish keeper?
@Mike_Rotchburns69 Жыл бұрын
Pea puffers are a intermediate level too keep. The only reason they are somewhat hard to keep is because their diet only consists of frozen or live food. They are carnivorous and they are very picky eaters. They won’t eat any dry foods. You need at least 5 gallons for one puffer. Guppies are a lot easier to keep, but you may need a tank that is 15 gallons or more. And you need a schooling of them, you can’t just get one.

Not sure if it is stated below or not; the two puffers in that tank were actually a green spotted puffer and a leopard puffer (not a pea puffer) Just so everyone is aware pea puffers grow to about an inch-1.5 inches and leopard and green spotted are about 6 inches each.

Get them more plants. They like places to hide and get away from each other and chill. Also, you don’t have to worry about their beaks, they don’t overgrow like other puffers. They can’t eat big clams. Snails are best abs bloodworms are great. That star fish is killer.
@TobyCreates4 жыл бұрын
They don’t need to eat clams, if you’ve ever seen a pea puffer eat, they suck the snail right out of the shell, they don’t touch the shell at all.
