Find a Pipe to Wayaway Island Mario & Luigi Brothership

I can't interact with the button by the trees. Is there any fix? This is game breaking

You have to save the other islands first, as if you go to the spot early, Mario and Luigi don’t know what they’re looking for, therefore they can not activate it.
