How to Kill a Sharkbone in Mario & Luigi Brothership

Man, here I was thinking there was some special trick to killing them. Like, you have to counterattack them and they'll stay above ground flopping around and THEN you can kill them. Nope! They're just legitimately overleveled for their area.

Using the risk-reward gloves is a huge help here since the sharks will likely kill you in one hit anyway. The plug that negates one-hit KOs will still work with this glove.

Took me two kills to get a bone. So I can confirm it’s not 100% drop rate.

The fire plug helps too, fire does 300+ damage to them

I believe the Surprise Iron Ball damage ignores defense. It's really useful too

i was like level 39 when i did this quest, not once did i see them run away or do that funky weird attack they did, only the one where they swim under the sand and the earthquake one lol

I had some trouble at first but its actually not as hard as you'd think once you get the hang of it

Idk if im just unlucky or what but i cant get a single dizzy effect, ice effect or burn effect on them

To get the dizzy effect, I'd have to hit them twice with that plug equipped.

@ never ended up working for me but i defeated them with just 4 bros attacks and the balls blitz encounter start attack bonus so it was fine

Came back at level 44-45 and beat all of them on the map and got 11 shark bone bones.. just come back when you’re their level or stronger than them.. also having the strongest gear gives you more resilience to them , even using emergency guard they only managed to inflict 82 damage on Mario and like 89 for Luigi.. you can defeat grind them and get a ton of EXP they definitely are great for grinding EXP

This is at lv 31 took over a hour. I equipped bros booster and auto exellence and had a luck boosted on luigi . used Luigi's jump helmet twice getting a lucky on one killing it. Had to kill it A 2nd time cause didn't have loot booster on and didn't Get the drop

I know I try killing them the moment the game told me not too. I got destroyed at first but then got good enough not too than they just run away.

The ~sandsurfing attack is aapparently an autocounter. They always peformed it against me after receiving damage

this really sucks. i got to hit them with a defense down and was doing 200 damage hits with my bros attacks but then it just fucking ran away.

There's a hammer that can lower enemy defense. Use it, then spam bros moves. You can defeat them fast enough without even stunning them with this method.

I’m 90% sure when I fought my first Sharkbone trying to get this I dealt around 1100 damage and it ran away…

Why are all my attacks only doing 1-6 damage when everyone else does 800+ with the same attacks? I’m at level 33, but I don’t see how 2 more levels could increase the number that much.

Hmm. I suppose it depends on your equipped gear and plugs, but 1-6 sounds way too low for level 33. My hammer and jump did 70-100 roughly with dizzifying attack at level 31 as seen in the video.

@ it seems odd that it’d be related to gear, it seems to be this specific enemy having unusually high defense. You didn’t mention using any plug that boost your attack power, though (I’m not sure if there is one). Maybe you have some kinda special gear that you don’t realize? That’s the only thing I can think of. I don’t have problems with any other enemy, I just do Paper Mario-esque chip damage to Sharkbones specifically.

Wait! I just killed one with Bros Boost enabled and just using a Red Shell and Jump Helmet once! Do they not have as high HP as I thought? I'm at level 41. 😮

This wasn't the first time I reached Allsand. This was right after the side quest popped up that involved beating a Sharkbone.

Cant fight sharkbone beacuse he can die by shark bone. is not posible fight

well, i dont know what im missing, i did 5 turns with them, dealt at least 800 damage to one of the sharks but the battle ended with a draw suddently, am i missing something?

Draw as in they ran away? That happens a lot and is annoying.
