I love this video. I'm in my late 70s. After years of agonizing over my alopecia, I started wearing wigs earlier this year. I agree completely with your statement about your pink wig, and being whoever you want to be. My way of getting out of my comfort zone was to blast right past it. I went to the salon for my regular appointment, and asked my longtime stylist to buzz my hair very short, and then dye it purple. She of course announced it to the entire salon, who gave it loud hoots and cheers of approval. I have a season ticket to my local minor league baseball team When I went to the game the next evening, total strangers told me they loved my hair. I've felt free to wear whatever wigs I like ever since.

Oh my goodness this just made me cry because you hit the nail right on the head. That's exactly how I feel. I have thyroid issues and hair loss is bad. I'm 74 and have had to deal with this for over 20 years, I'm at the point where I only go out for groceries. I love the silver ones you show. My natural color was black but most black wigs look fake. I would love a wig but can't afford one. Just love your videos.

I had to come back and tell you how happy I am with your idea of different lengths of wig. I wear your silver shade also and got out 2 older wigs and they are perfect for transitioning. Thanks for sharing your wig wisdom, Mel. I can no longer style my bio hair to make it look decent. I’m still struggling with wigs I feel are too much hair for me. It’s only the short styles that I feel comfortable in. Yet, I love the longer wigs and have purchased some, but I don’t feel comfortable wearing them out in public. I even purchased a slightly pink wig! 🩷

.. and it’s true, one has to be consistent with family members. Even though they support me, I know it makes some feel uncomfortable to be out in public together. It’s a good idea to have the same color wigs for family outings. It’s still hard

I thought I would reach out to the retailer I primarily use and asked why they didn't have that wig just to see what they would say. They were not aware of that wig and said they would call who they deal with at Raquel Welch and the next day they listed the wig on their website. interesting right? Maybe my retailer should give me a discount because it will bring in more business for them! So I don't know what is going on but it may be worth checking around with other retailers.

I work for Wigs.com😄 as a representative. Raquel Welch sent me the wig to do the giveaway. The wig I’m wearing was previously only sold as a Salon(retailer) wig. Not with retailers. Since wigs.com is doing this 12 days of Raquel Giveaway they released the wig for sale online with wigs.com.

It's because originally On Fire released as a salon only style but it was released here for this 12 days launch

@@lorifernandez1849 I was unable to find On Fire by Raquel here in Australia, but, if it was a salon only wig that would explain why. I hope it’s released to the general public soon as I like that one.
