This is great! I do wish to show a subset in the bar chart though but keep it filtered as top 5 of the larger set. Some context: Top N Firms as a stacked bar chart with the legend being business segments. I want it sorted by the top N firms by revenue and not ranking the firm per segment revenue. Solely the overall revenue

Could you explain the difference of using all(customer[customer name]) and values(customer[customer name]) inside the rankx function, thank you.

Hi XIAOTONG, Values() function returns the values of a Table/Column after applying Filter context from Visuals, External Slicers etc whereas ALL() function returns all the values after removing all filter context. In the example shown, as Customer Name is used in Table visual for each row 1) Values(customer[customer name]) returns Customer Name available at that Row. 2) ALL(values(customer[customer name]) ) returns all the Customers. Great video, only one question. When selecting Top 5 and Q1 2017, Top Profit Margins shows 7 bars instead of 5. Why is that?

Have you ever been able to use both this dynamic ranking and dynamic measures (as per your 'Multi Threaded Dynamic Visuals" video) together? Nesting the dynamic measure inside the ranking measure seems not to work (all results are returned, no matter what the ranking slicer says).

I believe it should work based on the scenario you are suggesting. There is likely something else that is causing the issue, like the evaluation context in this case

I've tried it twice now, with no luck. I'm worried that the filter context in the evaluation is causing a hiccup due to the HASONEVALUE and/or the SWITCH using its ultimate resultant. Have you ever actually used the one in the other?
