Axiom is now here in Australia! This advanced Pulse Induction prospecting detector has been tested for the last six months all over the Wide Brown Land in our highly mineralised Australian soils. Designed to perform in the toughest conditions in the world, from the ironstone reefs of the Golden Triangle to central NSW and Queensland, and the high mineralisation of the goldfields of W.A. All this testing in Australia has gone into Axiom because if it can handle our soil conditions, it can handle them anywhere! Your new Axiom is fully software upgradable via USB-C from the Garrett website. This short video explains some of the advanced features of the machine - stay tuned for more Axiom tips and settings! All the best and Happy Fossicking! Warren.

Hi Warren From my perspective it would be very helpful if you could do a bit of comparison depth target testing against the Minelab SDC and 6000. I understand there are many variables in settings, coil sizes and types, but would be worth a look? Regards, good prospecting and thanks for your Videos. Laurie

Thanks for commenting Laurie, the next time we are out alongside a 6000 we may just do that - a very subjective thing but I can fully understand everyone's interest, it's not all about depth of course, though that is an obvious point, but ability to handle EMI and hot ground/wet ground/hot rocks etc - something the Axiom does particularly well - all the best mate and Happy Fossicking! Warren.

So I've been running my AXIOM on fine, manual ground balance, normal. Would I benefit by turning speed to slow. Also did you say run it on salt mode? Thanks for the great video

Thanks for watching and commenting Rolland. I would suggest the best setting for small gold nuggets even in heavy mineralisation would be 11” mono, Timing (MODE) FINE, Tracking OFF, Swing (SPEED) SLOW. I haven’t found any need to use SALT mode even here in Australia in our high mineralisation. Run the sensitivity as high as possible for operations in your particular soils in AZ. NORMAL timing will delay the pulse timing slightly and may miss the tiny nuggets you can hit easily in FINE timing. We have found a lot of gold here with Axiom over the last six months with this setup. Hope this helps mate - Happy Fossicking! Warren.

@@NQExplorers thanks for that info. Yea we ran ours on normal speed and we were hitting small hold and iron targets but very faint compared to my friends gpx6000 the same targets would scream on his machine while it was barely giving the axiom an inconsistent alert granted this area we were in has lots of gold but all in the 1 to 1.5 grain size. I'll try the slow speed this weekend and let you know. Thanks again

I was talking to the guy who runs the Garrett AXIOM youtube channel says to use same settings you stated but use the DD coil as it's different than most Dd coils in that it's a sniper coil. It's that correct can you confirm this thanks for your info with Christmas and work I have not been able to go out metal detecting. Thanks again

@@rollandsaxton Rolland, yes the DD coil has an overlapping central winding providing a real 'hot spot' in the centre of the coil. We still prefer the mono as while it may run a little noisier, it does have better sensitivity on tiny nuggets and pinpointing is much easier as you can just use the blunt tip of the coil to investigate the hole or run your nugget scoop across. We just generally prefer mono coils in Australia, and put up with the extra ground noise as a trade off for the enhanced sensitivity, ground noise is generally easily distinguished from a repeatable metal target. Let me know which channel you were referring to on KZbin, not a lot of Axiom channels yet but they are coming for sure as more Axioms get out there finding gold! Cheers mate. Warren.

You should have said HOW to do a Factory Reset: Press POWER button for 5 seconds, wait for double-beep.
