I have the exact same power cable I bought for me Ares 2 dac 😃 Thanks Gabster I dont let any of my cables touch , Sometimes it takes me 30 min to switch out an amp or dac due to Cable Management ! 'Mr Carlson' !! Been watching him for several years - Me debating on re capping my New cd transport but idk if caps will matter in thr digital domain 😃 Never know until I try Thanks Gabster !!!!

What great second use for these detectors. Now I have another way to use mine. Thank you! As you mention this type of detector may not be perfect for "pinpoint" electrical noise detection, but the one that "Mr. Carlson" (check his KZbin channel) built is the best that I have seen yet.

Beware of plasma TV's, my Panasonic Plasma is a huge source of EMI. Be careful to route any audio cable away from a plama tv.

Does this probe work the same as an EMI meter? Meaning would do similar job but a lot cheaper? 🤔

No it is not the same emi meter are sensitive to very high frequency like 5 g internet this one is more for part of the audio band

That's not used to pick up noise! It's to identify cables and their locations. The humming noise is just a side effect of the electricity to let you know hot electricity is nearby. IT DOES NOT MEASURE NOISE!!! Get a Fluke!
