That’s my favorite part of this hobby. To sit and think about how these things ended up in the dirt. Was it a hole in the pocket? A battle?, an unexpected native attack? Some gambling on their down time? I wish I could touch the objects and see what it’s been through. History is awesome. Amazing find!!

Kurt, great episode. BIG Congrats to Billy on his 1836 Capped Bust half dime. Our digging group has only 2 half dimes ever!!! And then, you go get the gold coin! HUGE Congrats on that buddy!!!! Sweet gold coin, welcome to the club. I found 3 gold coins in the spring, 1871 US half dollar, 1865 peso, and a 1909 kurush all together. Nice And no the gold half dollar is smaller.
