Miley Cyrus song came out months ago. Obviously her song have been streamed millions more than the other 3. Jimin on the other hand, after 24 hrs it was streamed over 20+ million.

It wasn’t apples to apples comparison. It was meant to show which platform provides better revenue for the artist. Jimin earned more than Miley even though his single came out only two weeks ago because he sold more albums. Miley sold 55,000 cds and Jimin sold 1.3 million in only 1 day and Korea only. It wasn’t meant to show who got more streams, just income.

I wonder what the company split is for social media content. They publish the physical album sales and etc split but there is no mention of social media content, advertising (like being brand ambassadors or interviews and magazine articles), and special appearances on shows. Maybe those are all variable and contracts are made on a per case bases, so not set splits. Still what is their split on their KZbin channel or other paying social media?

It was reported that Bang PD made sure when Hybe acquired Bighit, the 7 Bangtan were given a major shareholding of Hybe-Bighit, owning 32% of the shares which actually makes everyone of them as owner of at least 4.5%. Although, it was reported that the elder BTS' RM, Jin, JHope and Suga sold a a little portion of their shares in 2022 or just before Jin announced his enlistment. Perhaps, it was a group decision to let them maintain equal shares on BTS' shares like reducing it to 28%. Note also that RM has explained in one of his vlogs that BTS in making music their main concern is the quality and of whether or not it will make ARMY feel happy and proud. And yet, RM said they cannot altogether disregard the profit side as they deemed it necessary to be responsible for the survival of the company, the pays for the crews, stylists, security guards, choreographers, producers, songwriters, composers and many more. Note BTS is given a wide room in the decision making like hiring people they have to work with and BTS hires only the passionate and the best ones who they respect and trust. Indeed, BTS' gets 35% instead of 45% of the gross sales of their albums (except for royalties), concerts, and non-music related activities. RM further explains that BTS gets an equal amount of their portion of the gross income and the members gets extra pay for their participation in composing or producing music. In one interview, Bang PD somehow said that the boys have greatly contributed in making music for the group so they would necessarily gets to share in the royalties besides entitlement of royalties is protected for by law in SK.

yes i remember seeing those news articles, i hope it wasn't spin. i hope it really is true, the guys have gag orders in place, i'm sure, and a story about shares made people want to buy stock in Hybe. eg, if true why would jimin have been behind in any payments that time? what was said about that could also have been untrue. we really don't know. i have a friend who thinks they could just be salaried.

@@sc33h3o3 there is no such thing as salaried for an artist, BTS and other big artist are NOT dumb to do that, maybe if youre new and just starting in the industry besides they are bigger than HYBE if HYBE loose them for unfair cut it would be their downfall.

@@diane4638 they renewed in 2018 and were big but not as huge as they are now. We have no idea what is in their contract, salaried would not be the norm in U.S. If an artist is not getting royalties or publishing if they are writers it would take the shape of a salaried situation.

yes. it is highly unlikely that they get paid based on gross revenue. usually, agencies and labels will recover their expenses first and just give the artist a fixed amount. after they recover their expenses, that's when the revenue sharing happens. i just did this for simplicity.

it is. i really advocate for buying cds even though people stream, i think we should still buy cds to support the artist. i think the way Big Hit is doing it seems like a route, they will put a hidden song in the cd so you are still getting something more than you will get from a CD. we need to support our artists.

Not anymore. I've been keeping track of Jimin's LC and SMFpt2 every day at the same time, and since last Saturday, both MVs have increased daily by roughly 500.000 views. In fact, LC increased by 750.000 in the last 24hrs. I also keep track of Suga's MV since release, and fortunately, his has been fine. So keep streaming!

In short his not that Popular yet internationally, Josh become ants compare to those 3 big stars. Small correction: KZbin Music (previously Google Music) pays $0.008 per stream. Many people have confused this with KZbin VIDEOS (watching on KZbin) pay per stream which is $0.002. Love your channel btw! I've been binging your videos.
