Answer is 6/7 or (4 - pie) or (4-22/7) Area of square = 4.. area of circle= pie r^2 (pie= 22/7) or pie x 1x1= pie since there are 4 (1/4) of a circle area of each is pie/4 area of all 4 = pie or 22/7 Area of SHADED REGION = 4-22/7 OR 28/7 - 22/7 = 6/7 Answer= 6/7 or 4 - pie.

Can you assume that the segment of the circle is actually a circle and not something that looks like a segment of a circle?

Find three points on the segment, two of which are on the edge of the square and one on the segment, connect the points and construct the perpendicular bisectors of the two line segments. The bisectors should pass through the corner of the square.
