Re-Mixed and Mastered for Remembrance Day, 2017. Mr. Stephen Stills, of the influential rock band Crosby Stills Nash & Young, wrote this beautiful song circa 1969-1970. Although this song has its roots embedded within the turmoil of the Vietnam War, this twentieth-century song, probably more than any other of its era, has come to represent the loss of life as a result of maintaining our precious freedoms. École FACE of Montreal, Quebec, is a nationally renowned school in Canada with a fine-arts focused curriculum that encompasses Pre-Kindergarten through Secondary Five (Grade 11 equivalent). As part of the school’s volunteer curriculum their music teacher, Monsieur Raymond Letourneau, formed a superb Boys’ Choir of some 80 students and allowed for the incorporation of this beautifully poignant song within their repertoire. The intent of this project was to recreate the original intensity of this musical piece in honour of our Fallen on Remembrance Day; and within a peaceful artistic context, to help the newest generation of young people understand the sacrifices that our Fallen and those of our Allies' Fallen have made during past and present generations to preserve our cherished freedoms.
