I liked XV, but XVI is basically an improvement in every way, minus maybe the fact that you only control Clive, and that didn't happen in XV until much later through the updates, still bumped that the rest of the DLC got canceled, reading it in a book just isn't the same, especially when there's no music.

There's a lot of things this game could have done better but damn it is so under rated, it's been a long time since Final Fantasy made me feel like an absolute badass. I just wish all the abilities had a bit more kick to them, too many barely do any damage and feel a little pointless. But wow they look pretty. And that soundtrack, the SFX too, that BOOM whenever you do the downwards jump attack while semi-primed, my beloved

The only thing good about 16 is the music and the boss fights 😮‍💨. Idc what anyone says, once Ultima makes the whole world darker and it has the pink shade- it legit is the ugliest ff I’ve ever played. I’d rather play a retro ff. Boring side quest, boring characters, short ass story, villains get speed ran, not enough time with the main cast to care about deaths, and the ending sucked. It’s also super linear which I don’t mind, but usually if a game sacrifices open spaces for a linear one they give the world a lot of detail. You have to be capping if you say FF16 a world is of the detail or beauty of 13s. Idk how we went from 15, a game with a way better world and better party- To 16, a game with the most bland world that doesn’t give a shit about the party.

You say all of that and then come with FF15 as a counter example in the end.😂 FF15 barely had a narrative, and the world is technically large while feeling small and empty with no personality or variety in its surroundings or place holder NPCs (plenty of copy and paste gas stations though). You had to get more than half of the exposition from separate forms of media and DLC. Literally the most unfinished and unpolished entry in the entire franchise. If you're actually trying to make somewhat of a decent point (which you aren't, they're just personal biases) then maybe compare it to something like FF7R which had pretty much everything you're whining about. Edit: And I'll add that FF15's battle system is a complete broken mess.

And yet 15 in its entirety is a longer game and story? Like you’re comparing base 15 to 16- 16 being one of the shortest mainline final fantasy games. These also aren’t even counter points to any point I made. “15 was unfinished” Okay? Does it not have…a better party 😂? Did it not have more options? Better locations? Better characters? Who in 16 actually got any level of development besides the main trio, and Joshua barely even really got attention. Jill’s whole character arc is wrapped up in a single chapter, Clive hits his peak character after mastering Ifrit- You’re not debating anything, at least not well.

@ FF15 is longer (artificially longer. Not like there's really any story.)... So a longer lower quality experience equates to better for you? FF16 has a clear and cohesive narrative from start to end. Highly polished. The acting and cutscenes are also not even on the same level between the 2. You can count the number of scenes you actually see in FF15. Which is INSANE for an FF game. And the cutscenes there are lame af. The characters are way better and MUCH more fleshed out in FF16.💀 Take away Kingsglaive and Brotherhood then nearly all of the backstory for the main party is missing, including Noctis.😂 And you're going to talk about deaths not meaning anything when Lunafreya is just kinda there with her only connection to Noctis being a journel (but they're in love I guess), and Noctis' dad literally dying off screen. Lmao Same with emperor Aldercapt after you realize the random monster you killed was the freakin king of Nifelheim.😂 Then the rest of the exposition you'll ever get is through DLC episodes and an optional side-game that all don't even feel like they're a part of the main game. All of the main cast's primary motivations was just cheering knoctis on. lol In FF16 the main characters had different motivations that all happened to align in the end. Also pretty sure Dion was a side character that got plenty of spotlight and depth so what are you even talking about. Gav? Byron? Cid? Benedikta? Annabella? And since we're including DLC, Shula is more developed than 90% of FF15's cast in game. Hell I know more about Mid than most of the FF15 cast. lol Better locations? What, Lestallum and Altissia? You don't even do anything in either of those. Meanwhile the world map is filled with a bunch of nothing besides 1 cool optional dungeon (Pitioss). Just a countryside drive simulator. And give me 1 memorable boss battle. Just 1. The battle system was broken, and the boss fights sucked. Even the highlight boss fight with Leviathan was a freakin glitch filled mess thanks to the horrible mechanics. Especially now that FF16 has a Leviathan battle that puts that one to complete shame.😂 Options? All you have to do is spam attack and pop potions. You never have to swap party members (an obvious late addition seeing as it wasn't balanced or useful). If you think the battle loadouts and builds stopped after Ifrit, then you clearly weren't even really playing the game. Like I said before, FF7 Rebirth is a fair and solid counterargument to having things that FF16 lacked. But FF15 is an objectively worse game in many regards. Even when you include all of the DLC and Royal patches.
