This pidgin doll gave me so much nostalgia. The hairstyle reminds me of these dolls I would get in a small town in Mexico when visiting my abuela. I still have them, and it's so nice to bring back those memories. I look back on them fondly.

Reserve a part of yourself and let that remain a playful day dreamy child. I'm 61 and I love dolls and toys. I collect both. Some top dollar, some from thrift and yard sales. I do all kinds of arts and crafts and play with color and different mediums -yarn, beads, fabric, paint, clay, paper.... You can too! Just give yourself permission to play and create. And don't tell yourself you can't, and don't let anyone else put limits on you either. You work. You pay your way... This is YOUR life. Enjoy what brings YOU joy. You can get supplies on the cheap at thrift stores, yard sales, dollar store clearance... I do it all the time.

I totally relate to this, as a kid I always loved everything sparkly, pink, cute, name anything “girly” and I loved it. However as I got older, I rejected those interests thinking they were childish. Especially during a phase of my life where I thought I was transmasc, I never wore anything feminine aside from makeup and sometimes pleated skirts. However now I’ve circled back to those girly aesthetics and really love agejo and hime gyaru styles. My style’s still changed since I was a kid of course, now I also like rock and goth styles, but I incorporate both into the ways I express myself.
