Keep up the good work with the prime LD uploads. That way the Axelsen zealots will maybe understand how massive the gap truly is between the actual GOAT and the best of a crappy era

Chen Jin was unlucky to born in the same era as LD and LCW. CJ had the body and stamina of a beast. His only weakness was his soft smashz

Chen Jin's attack was actually good compared to nowadays standard, just not good enough for likes of LD and LCW.

@@pham1020 ah yes you are right. The evolvement of technology and training methods should help the players to smash harder than the previous gen. But I guess the only thing lacking is talent.

It was rumoured back then that they made LD lose the All England final that year to help Chen Jin on his Olympic qualifications. This was never confirmed, although LD for sure looked more intense on his QF against Gade than on this semifinal. And Chen Jin looking unbothered playing trick shot after trick shot, he wasn't like that on his QF and bronze medal matches either lol.

The 2008 AE was fixed, and so was this - no way China were going to allow Chen into a final with LCW.

Earlier, LD helped CJ qualify for All England. Now, CJ returned favor by doing a practice match for LD. Both conserved energy, while LCW and LHI had an all-out match. Both were tired and easily crushed. LCW to LD. LHI to CJ. Congrats to Li Yongbo for masterminding this Olympics grand plan.

This comment show how lack of knowledge you are. There are matches with slow pace and fast pace back then and nowadays as well. The match between Kodai and Vitisarn in WC final was also very slow as well. This was obviously a long rallying match because that's Chen Jin style and he knows LD's game very well in which LD has to adapt to it. The pace of the matches vs LCW and Peter Gade was way different.
