Amazing advice. I personally had a disastrous experience in this regard. Just a side note: Also If you are a non-tech founder at least spend a month or two to dip your toes on Github- Different databases - Different cloud web servers, and if you have more time: Django or flutter

Hi Daniel - great advice man and insight. How would git hub or other git databases help non tech founders find a cofounder if you don’t mind? I am starting a consumer electronics product, but I feel the invaluable content and insight that Dan included in his videos can help any sort of industry and very grateful tk have him do this FOR FREE! In other words, do you think dipping the toes in the git database websites or other cloud web servers will help find a cofounder in a non SAAS industry? Thanks

@@bonafide154 Hi, Bonafide. Thank you. Sure. Hope this helps .and apologize for a long answer. I’ve started 2 startups with random co-founders who found them through the internet (one via LinkedIn, the other one through a website called (Cofounderlab)), both failed miserably. No time to play the blame game but what I learned: 1) What are you going to bring to the table: Technical or Capital: if it’s the latter, there is a high chance it won’t end up well. Please, please set aside 2 or 3 months and dive deep into the field you want to start, to the extent you can build the MVP by yourself (What I mentioned about GitHub or databases was related to this part not finding co-founder) Why?? Cause it saves you a year or 2 along the way. People are not that honest when they find out you’re not very knowledgeable on that topic. 2) If you have Technical background on that topic but trying to complement it with someone else that’s the best scenario, My advice is LinkedIn or Meetup application in your fields. For LinkedIn: Shamelessly cold message top people in your field and give them your MVP photo or plan. and ask them for advice over coffee. You will find someone

I’m so glad to hear your take on Slicing Pie, because it is undoubtedly the most fair way to do things. In one of your older videos you recommend incorporating startups as a standard Delaware-based C corp. I ran into confusion because the two structures seemed incompatible. Dan, does your experience show that Slicing Pie can work with a Delaware corporation?

All of my SaaS businesses were launched with co-founders. I recommend it. But how do you find the perfect co-founder and split equity fairly? I’ll show you in this video.

When you said you look for devs which are already working at some company in that domain I dont think you can recruit them. There are contracts which do not allow them to work for a competitor. If they work sidejob for a competitive app ... i dont think this works like that no?

If a non compete clause is in the contract then your out of luck. But I don't think its customary for most developer hire agreements.
