I was told when I married my husband, “always let I love you be the last thing you say to him , if he is leaving for work, or going to sleep”. Even if you are mad or upset with each other. And I always did. The last thing my husband said to me for going to work that last morning together was I love you! He then went to work and never came home. He passed away almost 14 years ago. Had a massive heart attack on his way home from work on June 4, 2007. So my last memory of him is him looking at me and saying I love you! Always, always say I love you to your love ones!

Being together. Conversation not necessarily, just together, although good communication is totally necessary. A compatible silence is comfortable. I can be doing busy work in my chair while we are in the same room while he is reading a book in his chair. Sporadic conversations happen but it doesn't have to be constant talk. But none of that happens for me without trust. I am not comfortable if I cannot trust someone. Without trust I exit - quickly.

My husband & I have been married 55 years. We are touchie people. When we are walking to & from somewhere we hold hands. We have had people stop us and say how sweet that was. It is just natural for us. We are 73 years old and, soon enough, we won't be able to touch each other. Also, at home we will just touch as we walk by or kiss on the head. A simple touch means so much now since tomorrow may not come.

I'm not even going to get in on this conversation about love. I've failed twice. I'm done. Now I'm slightly disabled and nobody is looking for someone that needs help. I have a husband for 35 years that I can barely stand to be around. People change. I know I did but failed surgeries did me in for good. Another thing I noticed was when Fidel came over, I noticed how when he got out of his vehicle the running board (?) came out and then went back in when he shut the door. As a girl, I’d rather stay home with my animals 10 out of 10 nights than go out on the town. If its eating out food, I’m happy to grab takeout and bring it home. Time is more enjoyable to me when I know how my animals are rather than being out and worrying how they are

My heart hurts for Ivy.. My mom told me that as a parent the worst pain that is so unnatural is a parent to lose their child. While Ivan isn't passed on As far as Ivy is concerned the baby she longed for and loved so much was snatched from her and I think about my mommy losing three children before she passed and her saying that was the darkest days of her life and her life wasn't easy so that really spoke volumes to me. Sending ear scratches and hugs to Ivy.

Even as a teenager my best times with boyfriends was just hanging out together. I had a 5 year relationship with a special bf and we’d go for long car rides and take old dirt roads in the country and see where we’d come out. We’d go fishing and just basically were best friends. We broke up 35 years ago, not his fault, but we are still friends today. Mostly through Facebook but close like family. I’ve been with my husband now 34 years and we’re similar too with the spending quality time together. We moved in together fast and spent basically ever day together from the day we got together. Having that person you want and prefer to spend time with makes for a close long lasting relationship. And Lester, I love that your a romantic, loving and sweet man. I think you and Jami are so amazing together. And I think LE is very much like his daddy. I hope him and Megan have a beautiful relationship together.

Mine is touch too ❤ This is totally fine and not everything has to be nasty at all you keep it real. You did a lot of work on the barn too and everybody knows it and it helped having Fidel do the higher parts since he is better with heights. It helped have the barn sooner for when you needed it. My husband and I have very different love languages. We have been married 17 years. We have had to be very deliberate in realizing what each other need over the years. They say opposites attract and it’s true in our case. We have found that we compliment each other well but it does take work and compromise at times.

Lester, I know exactly what you mean about needing touch. My late husband was a very touchy-feely person. And I also am a touch person. If we were together we were touching each other whether that be holding hands or sitting on the couch leaning against each other. We couldn’t get enough of each other’s touch. Sometimes we would just sit there on the couch watching TV and holding each other whether it was me holding his head in my lap or him with his arms around me holding me we were touching. And personally I don’t understand people who can’t do that

Yes and for me that included my children, a kiss and hug before school and on their return from school, and always a snack once in the door. If you ask them to this day they say the going and their return home meant so much to them.
