Easiest way to know if the PS3 is backwards compatible is look at the front, if it has 4 USB ports, its the backwards compatible version

Yeah usually any Japan version games are worth far less than the US version. Usually... The red flag for me also was when he said he bought it the other day and thought he could make a couple of bucks and it was marked for 20. So he knew the value.

You need to look for 4 USB ports at the front of the console on the phat ps3 I'm not sure about us but in the UK it's 60gb
