I just “discovered “ your channel today after seeing a blip about it in the new Pepe Tools site. As a recently retired 61 yo welder, I got swept up into the coin ring maker hobby, and as we are all aware, the Pepe ring stretcher is the final step in being considered a “serious” coin ringer! I was amazed, to put it lightly, that your studio is equipped with a throatless shear AND a red pipe vise! 1 observation and 1 question: O: That Harbor Freight throatless (how do they eat??) shear is a cheap knockoff of the iconic Beverly Shear that was made in the states. The Bev was a very precise tool! If you ever have the opportunity to get your hands on a Beverly, DO IT! Q: What do you use the pipe vise for? You don’t do plumbing as a sideline, do you? Ha! In closing, I really enjoy what I’ve seen so far on this channel, so you’ve earned a LIKE & SUB! Thanks!

Ah! Some squaring techniques I can count on with simple tools and I love that Sharpie makes a superfine retractable! Thank you, Nancy!

Timely video for me- the tip about using the circle stencil is exactly what I needed. Love the beautiful pierced piece you were using in the demo. (And I like your sweater!🤓)

Mahalo for another information filled video. I have long mastered dividing different size eggs for Pysanky, batik egg art. So when I started working with metal it was pretty easy. Good tips on using the tools, aloha Nancy.

I've used shears in my metal class with cutting action like the "throatless", and managed to mangled my 1 mm silver. It wanted to eat the metal rather than slice through it. Any thoughts? Thanks, as always, for your video!

There's a tool called a nibbler but, it cuts a wide line and can waste metal - especially at only 1mm. I've never tried one. The best, for me, is still that Pepe guillotine. But, in lieu of that.. Sawing might be the best alternative with smaller pieces. Have you heard of the miter cutting vise? You hand saw your metal and then square it up with this (my favorite) tool. I talk about it here, on my website. I've got a video out there somewhere too! nancylthamilton.com/resources/jewelry-making-tools/miter-cutting-vice-jig/, Good luck. I'd like to see what you are talking about and your process. Email me at: Nancy.lt.hamilton@gmail.com. Thanks!
