In this video it has been explained that how you can find the imaginary roots of a quadratic equation from just its graph. The core idea of the video is inspired from the contents of the book "An imaginary tale" by Paul J. Nahin. : amzn.to/2E9N4S6

But your "y" is complex so in reality you need 4 dimensions, no?

In order to plot the full complex parabola in the same space as the real parabola you would need 4 dimensions but what he is doing here is showing a way to use the real parabola to find where the complex parabola would equal zero. Essentially he is analyzing 4d space in 3 dimensions but inorder to do this you can only focus on a small part of the 4d space. This small portion correlates to a plane in 4d space where the magnitude of every point from the origin is the same. Essentially what this means is you can use our 3 dimensions to represent every point on the surface of (w^2)+(x^2)+(y^2)+(z^2) = (m^2) where m is the magnitude of every point that satisfies this equation. This is called a hypersphere. Using this we can analyze 4d space only one magnitude at a time so this representation of the complex parabola is only accurate at the chosen magnitude which in this case is zero

I fully understand the concept . I have doubt about this In my coaching. They showed graph for this in real plane . But I did not understand this i further questned that if roots in complex form exist then why it cannot be seen then they say that in real pane roots cannot be shown . And that after i learned what is real plane what is complex plane and all about that . I am a jee aspirant and in 11th class . Is it useful to me
