We also spent an afternoon at a local Maasai village where they shared their traditional songs and famous high jump dance with us. Next we met with their medicine man, watched as the villagers started fire with sticks, and learned about how the Maasai build their houses (spoiler alert: they use animal poop for the walls!).
It was a fascinating trip both for its cultural highlights and the animal conservation and protection efforts that Amboseli has done so remarkably well. The local people truly care about protecting the animals and creating an incredible experience for everyone who has been lucky enough to travel to Amboseli.

Who are the “Fernweh Chronicles”? ...And what does “Fernweh” mean anyway?
Hi! We are Georg, Tara, Liv and Bodhi and Fernweh is our way of life. It’s German (so is Georg) and it means a longing for far off places, or literally “far sickness”.
Georg and I met while we were each solo-traveling through Central America, many countries and adventures later we have two beautiful children, Liv and Bodhi, who are full of wanderlust just like their parents. Your little daughters is so sweet and well mannered. I've seen quite alot of videos of families both from abroad and local taking their little kids to these remote Maasai villages and let me say this is the first time i've seen a little kid ready to play with the locals, smiling, running in and out of Manyattas and immediately touching cow dung immediately she is told its cow dung😂. I bet she will be quite adventurous like the parents when she grows up. Kenya is indeed beautiful with alot to offer🙌
