When I was a kid at our cabin up north in Michigan, it was on a lake & we fished all the time. I once caught a Large Mouth that had a whole crayfish in its stomach. Another time I caught a Pike that had a small Bass in it...that was cool. Another time I'll tell you about how my brother & I were playing/digging in the muck & came out covered in leeches. That was traumatic...but not as traumatic as the time my hook caught same brother in eye lid. Ahhhhhh the memories...good times...good times. lol

Amazing footage of great blue heron! Also,Redfish with the fishing line in it. At least it was passing thru him but wondered about the hook but probably already disintegrated. He lives to reproduce more and be someone else's big catch of the day (if they can land it)!

Should try using corks and shrimp and drifted that sucker. Garauntee to work. Cover more ground and catch reds , especially when it's windy. Nice place for sure

I watched a blue heron catch a blue gill in a pond once. I was so impressed that he speared his beak clean through that fish while it was swimming in water with no hard ground behind it if you know what I mean . Must be some real power behind that neck to do that. They are very proficient hunters.

I have an aquaculture diploma and ran a 20 raceway trout farm. Once during my morning check of fish behaviour I had to pick up 23 speared 2lb rainbows that a blue heron had fished out of the tank and left. They get blood lust like a wolf and will just keep killing even though they have no intention of eating or returning. Aggravating for a fish farmer but cool to watch. keep up the vids, hey from Ontario

Guys, As a testament to NOT use stainless steel hooks I caught a 9 pound snapper when I was stationed in GITMO, Cuba and when it was cleaned it had 2 7/0 treble and 4 7/0 J hooks inside it’s stomach. Enjoyed your video THANKS 🇺🇸.

Great Blue Heron's are cool. One day I was feeding one Mullet about 8 to 10 inches long, and I stopped at 8 Mullet. lol. I still can't believe that bird ate 8 Mullet that size and still wanted more.
