We used to eat almonds just like those growing up in Cuba. I remember loving the smell on the green ones and even bitting the shells to taste them. Watching this brought me lots of good childhood memories. Thank you Kelly!
@howabouthetruth21573 жыл бұрын
I could be wrong, but I think the almonds we buy already shelled & bagged are partially roasted. Probably why they are a little crunchier than the fresh ones right off ( or under ) the tree.

It is called Tropical Almond or Sea Almond. It is different from Almond in the USA.
@howabouthetruth21573 жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing that information. I was wondering if the almonds we buy in stores already shelled & bagged up are partially roasted for preservation. Naturally, a roasted nut would be crunchier than fresh off the tree, or on the ground. I'm just guessing of course.
@terrencecampbell60863 жыл бұрын
@@howabouthetruth2157 They are usually roasted and some are sun dried. This reduces the moisture content and increases shelf life.
