Yes, just random thoughts. WTF, just structure your ideas before making a video and try to get to the point.

Apparently you find clients by unstructured rambling for about 7 minutes. I'll try it and get back to you.

lmao if any of you are serious about being a freelancer, the best thing you can do is listen to someone who has had a large rate of success. Learning is literally the key to success. Stop all of your guys' bitching and find another video that's going to simple say "post ads, spam people"

Cheers for the video content! Sorry for the intrusion, I would appreciate your opinion. Have you thought about - Biyora Unexpected Breakthrough (just google it)? It is a great one off product for getting paid doing surveys minus the headache. Ive heard some awesome things about it and my old buddy Taylor at very last got excellent success with it.

You spent all that time and didn't actually say one thing about how you specifically get clients. That's what is going to help us.
@SandraDi
@SandraDi 4 жыл бұрын
agreed! have you been getting clients recently? How is freelancing going?
@olivertruswell

@@SandraDi I work in-house now for an agency that covers a few brands. Not only do I get to plump up my showreel, but I can take more risks. I wish I'd done this sooner. If I go back to freelancing I'll be in a much stronger position. I've also got insights into hiring people as we've hired other videographers so that'll put me in good stead. How are things going on your end?

I do freelance in parallel with my full time job and my freelance returns are 3 time more than my full time salary. The secret is, be passion, talented and a good client listener. Thats all. Thanks

These are great insights. I have a similar video to this so I can relate. I did the same thing and did quit my job and am now working for myself. Your story should resonate with most people who are struggling with finding the right moment to quit their job. Thank you for sharing.

So can you explain your specific system to us in-depth? That would be helpful to be inspired or to seek similar elements to use in my system. Do you use specific funnels? Multiple funnels? Lead generators, ads maybe? Digital marketing tools? Or solely networking and inbound leads? And what would be your system in that? Different systems for flux, webdesign and prospero? Thanks for the great content man, watch you a lot. Keep it up!

I did explain mine in multiple videos and yes, it’s basically just networking with other designers + startup founders + investors (but 90% of leads are from either designer friends or referrals)

I'm in this situation right now. I do freelance and I have a full-time job, but I'm looking for consistency in freelance. I successfully used freelance websites until now, but currently, I'm looking to try another system.

What are these design jobs that are paying 150k+ a year? In the states, the average design job pays about 40k. Even art or creative director’s top out at around 100k a year, Unless it’s a super successful company.

I do not even get it.... 150K a year to me is 12500 a month... in the UK thats less then a minimum wage if you're 19 and starting a fulltime job in a McDonalds for example.... Or am I missing something? :D

The title is misleading. This should be named "My story of transitioning to freelance (after quitting your job)" Regardless, the video is still good and I love what you said in the ending.

Thank you kindly for this video. I am a graphic designer and illustrator getting ready to leave a secure good paying job, to make the leap into full time freelance and self-employment. I've been in the industry for over 15 years, and have always freelanced - but have been scared to make the transition. I enjoyed your video and tips. THX!
