I’d say so yeah, it has a great blade depth so the blade is secure and not liable to coming out easily, it has a great handle so it’s easy and comfortable to hold, and it’s cheap so it’s not a huge deal if it gets beat up

If you’re on a budget Imperial Workshop is great! Pretty good hilt selection, and you have the choice between Xenopixel 2.0 or 3.0 (the latter has Bluetooth capability) for the core. I’ve heard good things about Padawan Outpost as well for those outside the US, but I haven’t personally bought anything from them, so I can’t give much of a recommendation in that regard.

Yes, they sent it to me for free, I didn’t purchase it. As a matter of fact, I reached out to them and asked them if they could send me one of their products since so many of my audience asked for my opinion on the company and I had nothing to base an opinion on. I also didn’t sign an NDA or any contracts to make the video, and am under no obligation to say anything I don’t believe in. Quite frankly, I don’t like having it because it’s completely useless to me 😂 I build my own lightsabers, and significantly better ones than this, and this just takes up space and doesn’t fit my collection. I haven’t used it once since making this video over a year ago. But it’s incredibly useful for people who don’t want to spend a ton of money on a good lightsaber, don’t care about the hilt being a high end replica or whatever, and just want something cool to spin or hit things with. I also did a review of a sabertheory lightsaber around the same time (because my audience had asked, and they had contacted me) and gave my honest opinion that you shouldn’t buy it because it kinda sucked 😂(they never reached out to me again) I never review any lightsabers that I’m not allowed to give my honest opinion of, and it’s one of the first non negotiable things I say when companies reach out to me asking for reviews. Lastly, I have absolutely zero interest in all the mass produced LGT or TXQ lightsabers and reselling companies that have exploded onto the saber world and social media. My collection is entirely comprised of high end custom fx prop replicas, vintage props, and things I’ve installed myself. The sabers companies would send me don’t fit the bill. But not everyone has the same preferences in lightsabers that I do, which is why videos like this is useful. Hopefully this helps convince you that my review is trustworthy, for what that’s worth. I’d prefer that people buy the lightsabers I make rather than other people’s, but if they don’t care about what I offer or can’t afford it, then videos like this are for them.

You should probably do some more research about lightsabers first, you will get absolute trash for $80. $160 is pushing it already, but it at least has more. Even if you found an $80 saber, it’s made by the exact same Chinese manufacturer as this saber. Most companies you see on social media these days are just resellers of a couple mass production Chinese manufacturers. They make sabers as cheaply as possible and mass produce them for the most profit. So you 100% won’t find an $80-$100 saber that does exactly what this does, because it’s made as cheaply as humanly possible and by the same company as whatever saber you’re talking about. This is as cheap as it gets for a saber with these exact specs, unless you bypass the reseller website and go straight to the manufacturer

Thanks for the question! There are two main things I can think of that determines the brightness. The power and the hardware. Both kind of go together though. Basically it’s all about how much power gets to the led strips in the blade, how much power the leds can handle, and then the brightness output capacity of the leds themselves (lumens). From what I understand, the size of the wires and how the soundboard manages the power distribution determines how much power gets to the blade leds. It’s possible that the soundboard doesn’t do that part as efficiently or well as higher end soundboards do. I can’t say if that’s what’s happening here since I haven’t measured the voltage outputs myself. Then we have the led strips themselves. Personally, this is what I believe is making the blade so much less bright. The leds inside are cheap, not made to be super bright like my blade is. It also likely has less leds overall. So the individual leds in the strip aren’t great, and there aren’t as many in the strip itself compared to what mine has. However the blade was wired up could be limiting power too, idk what resistors they might have used etc. Lastly it could also be whatever materials they used to diffuse the leds. So the blade tube could be thicker, or more densely white, or made in a way that restricts more light from passing through. Or whatever foam or inner diffussion they use. Anyways, it’s most likely a combo of everything that makes it not very bright. If you wanted to try making it brighter, the best thing I’d recommend is to invest in a much better and high quality blade. I can guarantee it’d be significantly brighter

Recently I ordered an empty Korbanth Jedi Survivor (like the one you have recently shown installing, but in chrome as I consider weathering it) after liking the game so much. Just as a display piece. But I got more and more impressed by how much is possible with today's lightsaber electronics, so that I ordered a cheap installed saber similar to the one you have demonstrated in this video. Just to see if I am really into it, before investing in a high quality installed saber or getting my Jedi Survivor installed. I am very curious since both sabers haven't arrived yet. KR pixelstick blades you can make yourself, and it is one of the best due to it’s construction. It is a double sided and staggered pixel strip, to fit in more pixels in the length than usual plecterpixel strips, and to eliminate a bit more shadows between pixels. KR sells his pixels strips so you can build your own blade with them, same as you could make your own blades with plecterpixel strips, but it is just a better strip. Not as easy to adjust to custom lengths though

Personally, I like Saberforge. From my experience, their lightsabers are well-crafted, easily customizable, and the app that you can install on your phone to control your lightsaber makes it even better. Sound quality is also really good and I’ve found that the lightsaber is definitely worth the cost, depending on which one you get

I have no idea how saberforge is these days, I just know they had a bad history of being a terrible company. I imagine they’ve changed, haven’t heard much these days. But really it all depends on you and what you want out of a lightsaber. Personally I never buy from imperial workshop, saberforge, or any of those companies. But I know for some people this is exactly what they’re looking for 👍

The best blades would definitely be a KR Pixelstrip installed blade. The pixel strip has staggered pixels on both sides to help reduce shadows, and they are way more dense and bright. You can find some from SaberBay or BenduArmory. Best is a “show blade”, which doesn’t have as thick of a tube as the “battle” blades. Lets more light out and has better color

The lightsabers sound is fine. You can change the volume from 0 to 10. This is a very large range that can allow your lightsaber to be quiet, mid, or reeeeeaaaaalllllly loud! So therefore the lightsaber has a very wide range of volume that you can customize to your liking at any time. This guy just seems to be trying to show how good his stuff is. But as an owner of this product a can assure you that this lightsaber is great. It has 40 types of ignitions which some are original, and others are from the movies. I don’t work for the company, I just really like this saber! 😅

This saber’s volume is set at 10, don’t worry! It just isn’t as loud due to the lack of a comparable resonance chamber, and the fact that the speaker itself is a cheaper speaker. I’m a big proponent of imperial workshop’s stuff, they are fantastic for the price! But I just wanted to do a comparison showing that there are better, and where it stands among other sabers. I don’t care either way if people buy my sabers or imperial workshops, I just love lightsabers and want people to buy what’s right for them. But you can’t buy what’s right for you if you aren’t informed of the options available. Again, it’s a fantastic saber! Really amazing for a super good price! But it’s definitely not the best out there, and doesn’t use the best stuff. That’s why it’s so cheap, but they really do a good job making it count. This video is just to show the differences and compare it to higher end sabers, not to convince you to buy or not buy either. Plus, I don’t even use max volume on my sabers ever 😂 It’s way too loud. I believe in the videos I have my saber at 65% while imperial workshop is 100%. Both to protect the speaker from potentially breaking, and to protect my ears from damage too. It’s really not good to have a super loud saber, and to most people imperial workshop is perfect! A better comparison would be sound quality rather than volume

I’m not sure what blades “click in”, but most lightsabers use a blade retention screw in the emitter that you screw in the press into the side of the blade

For a “neopixel” lightsaber, there are led strips inside the blade that allows for the scrolling effect 😁 You can check out a short I did around the same time as this one, going over how it works!

I’d use it for sparring or spinning, it’s got great blade depth which helps keep the blade super secure and the lack of protruding details makes it nice to hold. Plus the fact it’s pretty cheap makes it easy to replace
