These videos are fun. I speak Cantonese and Hoisanvah. I'm an ABC in Detroit. I don't get a lot of opportunity to use either one except among family.

Hi Ray, as a native Hoi San speaker who came to U. S in my 20s, I would say that your Hoi San is very good and quite accurate in term of tones and wordings. Continue with your good work and I really enjoy your conversation with Emily.

Thank you William. I credit my parents, aunts, uncles and grandparents. I never spoke it to cousins or friends growing up, so I’ve never heard variations until recently. Appreciate the kind words and encouragement!

Being an ABC here in San Francisco, listening to your talks is great. Do miss having conversations with my mom since her stroke. Growing up with both parents able to speak different dialects has been a great benefit to me.

Nice to finally know what Ray and Emily looks like, both of you were awesome and hilarious. Sorry it took me a little longer than I expected to watch the video as I started on Halloween and now it's Thanksgiving. Lots of things came up unexpectedly with the COVID-19 economy so all of a sudden, one of the brokerages stopped paying the subscription for a software I was using and there was no way to extract the stock symbols out for close to 2000 symbols and it took me a while to find a way to actually screencapture to text using OCR technology in batches of 35 at a time but it still didn't do the letters I correctly and treated it as a lower case l or a VV as W for example. And I just realized last night there is a third video out already! Happy Thanksgiving to the both of you and yours!

Hey Ray nai gong hao la. My family speaks Hoi San, my grand mother wouldn’t have it any other day. I’m born and raised in LA, living in San Gabriel valley. Would love to connect. My friend Mary shared your channel with me. Love it.

I have a high recommendation for you on an orthodontist-his name is Dr. Harry Chin. Dr Chin, he’s in the medical building on 2000 Van Ness at the corner ofJackson Street, on the second floor. I was a patient of his, and so was my son. Dr. Chin, he’s a San Francisco native, went to Lowell high school, and UC. Check out Yelp, for reviews on Dr. Chin-it’s very positive.

I hope Emily shops around (but I don't know how severe her daughter's teeth are). It was $8k for Invisalign and I ended up just getting regular braces for $1.2k. This was 2010.

We’ve found some of your awesome Hoi San videos... and perhaps there can be a cross-channel collaborative episode in the future?!?

@@Snailiepaa- we will be practicing together! Learning new things and reminding eachother of forgotten words... Your vocabulary is pretty deep! When the Covid dust starts to settle, I can see it happening!
