I'm from Myanmar and love Shan foods. I have been there several times to Shan State, Myanmar and have never tried that donut. I am Burmese and we have the similar delicacy like this, called Mote Latt Kaunt. Literally translating, Mote means SNACK ,and Latt Kaunt means Bracelatt. Similarly, rice donuts are fried to deep yellow and later served with jaggery syrup. Jaggery is made from palm juice extract. I hope food styles are intertwined among the ethnicities. As Thailand shares long borders with Myanmar, love to see similar ethnic foods with a bit different version.

Watching from Myanmar 🇲🇲 yes, Shan State is the largest region in Myanmar & very beautiful with mountainous views. Shan dishes are very delicious, especially Shan Noodles is a favourite across the country. We would like to invite you to visit Myanmar again to try our delicious dishes not only burmese but also ethnic (Shan, Kayah, Kayin, Rakhine etc.), however, now we are in our darkest times, fighting for Democracy. Military Terrorists are killing our people every day & destroying human rights. Please pray for Myanmar & do visit again when Democracy is restored 🙏🏼
