@PolyProphet2 жыл бұрын
Yeah seems it gets worse every year. Less people care and just replace with brand new. My mindset is to collect what I can while at a pile and not to leave anything to chance. Someone might arrive after me and beat the truck, but it’s likely no one cares. So I save what I can 🙂
@michaelstonebreaker33872 жыл бұрын
Yes, cutting cords on items that someone might reuse guarantees a ticket to the landfill.

@@michaelstonebreaker3387 My thoughts exactly. If the trash truck is moments away or the condition of whatever is evident then fine. From out here a lot of things look reusable or fixable. We need more handymen than pure scrappers it would seem to me.

Hey mate i'm sure youve done this already but it would be good to know how the scarpyard works, i get its on weight but how do they know how much youve scrapped? your car/trailer gets weighed then you lob loads of it into a big pile but keep a load, so how do they work out what youve kept V what you scrapped? Also im from the UK so the whole concept of people leaving piles of household stuff on the kerb is crazy, we do have scrapmen that come around but we only leave metal out not random boxes of cool stuff, seems like you guys over their have days assigned for you to put stuff out?
@PolyProphet2 жыл бұрын
Hi mate. The yard is only concerned with what I’ve left not what I’m taking home 🙂 We have booked bulky pick ups in my area. Other areas are set dates where everyone in your suburb puts it out at the same time. In the past all of Melbourne did it this way. Nowadays most councils have changed to booked pick ups.
