awe damnnnnnn that mixer. just another example of why prioritizing the highest loot is so important. the resale of that would've definitely made up for the dropped metal price and small load. speaking of reselling stuff. a video looking into that side of things would be pretty neat. how fast things sell, how hard some stuff is to repair, how long you keep stuff trying to sell it, where you like to sell your stuff, how much more you get from metal stuff vs if you just scrapped it. also, i'd recommend taking tv's with you if their screens aren't broken because it's likely a very simple fix for a very expensive device. usually just a single popped capacitor or whatever on the board. you can easily spot what's wrong with a fried tv by looking for burn marks or melted plastic around the various pieces of the board. if you don't want to repair them yourself though, you could save them up and sell them in bulk to someone who does that kind of thing. make sure the screen doesn't break though because that trashes it even in scrap value and also releases toxic xenon gas just like those lightbulbs. a really great tip i think would be to get a power inverter in your truck with an extension cord so you can plug in various devices to test if they work on the spot. it also makes it easier to see if a screen is broken internally. if things do work, yay free paycheck. if not, cut the cord or think about repairs as you normally do. either way, great investment that would almost instantly pay for itself. speaking of screens, computer monitors, eh, give or take. some can be crazy valuable, but i think pretty much every one you've ever seen in a pile is just a dime a dozen type. if they work you can just quickly drop them at a pawn shop or flea market for a tiny bit of extra cash.

If you find a box or something full of greeting cards, ALWAYS take them as some could contain forgotten gift cards. I've found 3-4 just looking through boxes of items on the curb. If you don't want to check them at the curb, throw them in the truck and check once you're home. You never know! 😃

It's a pity that the price of a repair man to come out to your house is so expensive, people would rather chuck appliance's to the curb now you can't make money recycling them they'll end up in the landfill. That is bloody ridicules'. At lest your trying to make a difference and a little money, good on you mate.

Why not cut ends of hoses with the metal, or salvage hoses and resell? Why not put the hoses you cut into the machines, they must add very little weight. You are skipping the small broiler units, can see the metal bottoms in the piles. Loved the wooden slatted chairs and the plastic dog house. The baby strollers are adorable. How are you selling the things you find? Just realized that you are not as worried about getting loaded as quickly, are you scrapping now full time, or still working at your regular job but less hours? Knowing that there are many snakes and poisonous toads, do you be extra careful out there!
