I have always loved learning both physics and medicine but I chose physics as a field to pursue. My heart aches to work in the field of medicine, to make a change and make lives much much better and this video definitely made me even more motivated to pursue a career in medical physics! Thank you!

As a LINAC engineer… I like what Medical physicist do… I love there work… Great Job…

Good evening. I have done my honours in Physics and on my time of study I took a project in medical Physics and I had a good experience particularly how the the LINAC work. I was wondering if it is possible as a physics student to become LINAC engineer?

Are you wanting to apply to the States? If so, aim for CAMPEP approved Medical physics programs. There are many. You can even see them listed here: www.campep.org/campeplstgrad.asp

Can anyone tell me if Medical physics and medical radiation physics are both same or different courses?
@raine6034 Жыл бұрын
Medical physics would probably be the more general course where you would study imaging, radiotherapy, etc and doesn’t necessarily involve (dangerous) radiation (ie ultrasound) whereas I imagine medical radiation physics would be focused on radiotherapy and imaging modalities that use radiation

i'm very interested in medical physics. i feel like it's my passion and it's my dream job to do clinical work in that field. unfortunately i'm from the middle east and i can't afford the master's tuition fees abroad:/
@CancerZappersbyAba3 жыл бұрын
Maroun, that's very understandable. Apart from applying to a Masters program, you can also apply to a PhD program where tuition is free. The research that you are involved in as a PhD candidate will develop and establish your career( esp if you stay in the same field). So there are options.

Is working in medical physics dangerous for example exposure to radiation?
@CancerZappersbyAba3 жыл бұрын
It can be if you do not take the right precautions. We do the calculations for our shielding designs to ensure we are getting minimal dose. We also check them afterwards. We also regularly monitor our body dose to ensure we are within safe limits. Follow the correct procedures and you are very safe.
@dsboss2063 жыл бұрын
@@CancerZappersbyAba Are there workers still getting exposed today or is that completely minimised now
@CancerZappersbyAba3 жыл бұрын
@@dsboss206 We always work to ensure our limits are "As Low As Reasonably Achievable". So take External radiation therapy for example--all workers are shielded to very safe limits( i.e when working with a linear accelerator). If working with radioactive sources, one must take extra precautions to ensure reasonable time, distance, and shielding from the source.
