@@CancerZappersbyAba Thank you. I was just wondering whether one requires a PHD to be a clinical MP? Also, if someone gets a Masters what are the chances of matching into residency compared to a PhD holder

@@puritybundi8204 Please check this link: medicalphysics.med.wayne.edu/faq-students You can definitely pursue medical physics with a Masters degree. I personally work with great medical physicists with Masters degrees. I'm not sure about what the chances are of landing a residency with a Masters vs. PhD ( anyone, please feel free to contribute) but I do know that in my years of interviewing candidates, we have at times favored certain Masters holders over PhD holders. Some of the things that can work in your favor are your strong presentation, having taken part 1, and your display of interest for the field( eg. Through projects, research, internships etc). Networking also helps. It's also a good idea to apply to the correct type of setting. For example a university that focuses more on research and academia would most likely favor a PhD candidate.

Another point is that in order to switch fields to medical physics once you already have a PhD in a related field , the official route would be to get a certificate in Medical Physics. That being said, the official route for Masters holders is to already have a Masters in Medical Physics (specifically) in order to pursue a career in Medical physics.

Hey Aba, I'm studying masters in physics from India. I'm a person who's more interested in the field of physics and medicine. Could you suggest me some good Universities where I can take masters in medical physics.

Hello Emily! Welcome to the channel. I am very excited about your interest in the field. Here is a list of CAMPEP accredited universities: www.campep.org/campeplstgrad.asp

I attended the University of Wisconsin--Madison. They have a wonderful program. But there are so many other wonderful programs on this list.

Hello Aba, please can I match the medical physics residency program after completing my master's in the usa as an international student (ghanaian to be precise).
@CancerZappersbyAba3 жыл бұрын
Hello Yvonne! Thank you for your question, and it's great to have you on this platform! It does not matter where you are from. It matters what you are mastering in, and where. Medical Physics? From a CAMPEP accredited program? Then of course!
@lifewithvonnie37043 жыл бұрын
@@CancerZappersbyAba Yes please in medical physics. Thanks for the response.

@@lifewithvonnie3704 You're welcome! Another option is to apply to residency programs that are not participating in the match program. Not every residency program participates in the match program.
