Some good easy finds! I can tell you and I would have fun at a junkyard. You look at stuff the same way I do. What state are you in again? Great idea to have a camera person with you! Hope we'll be seeing more videos soon.

I recently moved to south Alabama. This yard is in Mobile, Al. Yeah, I mostly look for quick flips with little work. Window switches are where the money is at, but I need to set up a test bench for them.

@@debunkingcars2359 It's a nice yard! Lots of space between all the cars and pretty flat. I've only gone to junkyards really in the past few years. The yards in Ohio and Michigan are absolutely loaded if you're into domestic vehicles. Any of the dashboard controls can be worth quite a bit too. 4WD switches and digital climate control nonsense haha. Lots of fun!

Speaking of junkyards Scotty still thinks that if a car burns oil it belongs in the junkyard.

@@debunkingcars2359 If it's from the 90s and its not a Toyota, it might belong in the junkyard. If a Camry runs in the first place, you can usually keep it running for much longer. No one ever does anything to make an old Camry look better though. Not on the outside. I have found out, you can use outdoor urethane spar varnish to fix clear coat. It's not like a shop but it passes the eyeball test in a parking lot. I just dabbed it on with a Kleenex. Actually a Scottie but you know what I mean.

I sold a quite a bit of parts on eBay and my most profitable are rare silver face factory Volkswagen gauges and computers. It’s hard to test stuff but I always welcome to returns just make sure you sign the part and take a picture so you know you’re getting the correct part in return. I only had one return.

@@debunkingcars2359 Yeah especially with electronic things and rare cars but the average person wouldn’t know what the heck they’re looking at. I think the easiest thing is if you find a key in the ignition to take the key and the computer out Because usually to reprogram a key for a car you need an old key so if you sell a computer you need to have the key with it. Some computers or ecu’s are worth a lot of money somewhere around $1000 for certain cars

@@andrewziegler2608 GM air bags! At least those from the early 00s. A lot of airbags in general really. Any auto dimming or electronic integrated mirrors too. Gauge clusters a big one also, as you mentioned. Strange how many things in a car can be worthless or worth big bucks.

How are you making any money on a $50 radio? They charge around $25 at a yard at least, plus $15 shipping and 12% in fees you’re making like $5

Varies a lot by salvage yard. Some want $40 for a fuse box and some want $10. Just as an example. In my experience you can almost always haggle as well. Get to the desk and when they give you a price ask about specific items and say "Ah that's too much. Could you cut me a deal on that?" If they refuse, ask if you can get one of the items for free. If they still refuse, ask if you can just get a reduced overall price. If they won't do it, then feel free to leave the overpriced items behind. When they know you're serious about leaving them, they still might finally cut a deal. One yard wanted $24 for 4 spark plug wires and I was like that's too much that's basically new prices. They gave them to me for $7 hah. Normally wouldn't get used wires anyways, but these were fairly recent NGK blue wires. Anyways, just figured I'd share. :)

Dude! Good to hear from you. Yeah, I got a set of "oh shit" handles for free just because I wanted to use a card to pay. Dude was like, "eh, just take em." Always works better at local lots, but the flip side is they're more picked over than the national chains.

I hadn't thought about this, but consider this, SOME of us go to junkytrds to get parts for our cars, becuase we are running them on a budget or dealer prices are too high, in doing this, i.e. taking parts to sell that you don;t need, your taking the ability of some poor guy to fix his car. The same mentality of going to burger king, and taking all the ketchups up, just because there there. Have a little thought for your fellow man. Not even this, but some poor guy who CANT fix his car. ex. part costs $5 at a junk yard, you buy that part and sell it for $10 no one can buy that part right. God I hope other people don't do this shit, wanna hustle, hustle, not at the expense of the poor working stiff
