Ladies, if you plan to ride public transport, you need to learn how to do what Tyra Banks says she would do in New York on the subway there. Mind you, Tyra is a supermodel now, but she started out as an aspiring model in New York City... Riding the subway... In full makeup... Dressed up... For her go-sees (model talk for job interview). She says you need to learn to put on your crazy face. Don't be afraid to cause a scene. If someone creeps you out, act like a nut- it has saved my butt and my daughter's butt several times in the busy city we used to live in. The driver will come to your aid. At the very least, the creep will leave you alone thinking there's an easier, less noisy target somewhere else.
@WolfStreak5 жыл бұрын

I grew up riding the bus. I drive, been since 19. I don't need to cause a scene. I can give death glares to creeps. And it usually puts them off. Also, I have God. However, sometimes I tell them. "I'll sacrifice your ass to Satan." I'm a small woman, but I can be quite scary if I want to be.

I felt for these kids too. I've sat and talked with many kids in foster care when I was a tutor in college- I tutored kids in high school literature classes. CPS just needs to be replaced by a new system staffed with people who actually care about children! Because it always seems like most CPS workers look at the job like working at a mall kiosk rather than being charged with the safety/care of the most vulnerable.

I'm sure thankful that my biological family is very loving and now my family has grown. While there is some tension between my mother and biological siblings with my maternal grandma (she wanted to raise me but my mother did not want this), I received nothing but love from everyone. I am truly blessed to have been raised by a loving family who cheered me on my journey "home". My mother could not have chosen a better family to raise me and for that, I will always be grateful. Just as I don't call my "baby" brother (he's in his twenties and near a foot taller than me) my adopted brother I don't distinguish my adopted and biological family except explanation purposes such as this. They are all family.

I was adopted when I was 7wks. I'm either oldest or 2nd oldest. My mom was 21. My biological sister came into the foster care system and was also adopted by my parents 18 months later. My biological mother was a projects breeder. While my adoptive family is the most amazing, outsiders made my life hard. My sister and I did attempt to find out biological family (because we know we have siblings and need medical history) until we got in touch with an uncle. He told us to stop searching. He said that the family are either hardcore drug addicts that will use us OR they are murderers in prison for long sentences. Needless to say, we have stopped out search.
