I recently donated part of liver to my father who suffered from liver cancer for years. Though the surgery itself was successful, but internal bleeding from other parts of his body was too severe and he unfortunately passed away. He was a famous C-pop lyricist and had taught creative writing to many in the university. Though I hadn’t learned all the things he could offer, I remember he always said that songs are meant to be listened instead of just reading the lyrics, because emotions and meanings emerge from the combination of language and melody. I feel that every single words, when they are sung by your beautiful voice, are reflecting my very situation and my heart; though I finished Finding Paradise the day it came out, this song stuns me once more. Too few words can I use to thank you, because this song as well as Gao’s game make me brave. With or without regrets, I will live on. Thank you so much.

I had a chance to show Finding Paradise to an old couple that I met up with at an old folks home (long family friends, the sweetest people youd ever meet, the husband, when they first went on a honeymoon actually ran out of money that he saved up for their month long honeymoon, and the wife just told him to not worry about it...thats just a snippet of their life) Anyways, the husband passed away a few weeks ago...and this song played at the funeral as everyone was paying their respects before we went off to bury him. I dont think a single person made didnt tear up by the second verse. Music and games can have a real lasting impression on people, can't they?

The difference between Colin and Johnny though is Johnny wasn't lonely. He asked out River because he wanted to try "something different". River was a real thing Sigmund had to rearrange in order for Johnny to get his final wish. Colin was lonely(an outsider like river). In a Bird's Story, he found that bird and nursed it back to health only to have his only friend taken away. He then later made that bird into a "real" person(Faye). Johnny's wish was just to go to the moon, but his love for River got in the way of that. Colin just wanted his friend back to tell her "thank you for being my only friend". THE THING IS, BOTH STORIES MADE ME CRY MY EYES OUT AND HAS LEFT A GAPING HOLE IN MY HEART

I've just finished To The Moon and Finding Paradise, and this song in particular makes me cry more than all the others. Finding Paradise makes me remember all the friends I could never exactly interact with: all the way to high school, I've always been the very shy kid, who never talks to anyone. Every friendship I've made that time would disappear on the next year (they changed classes, schedules, schools or even cities), and I weren't allowed to have pets, so I've never actually had a real friend. All I had was my plush toys and my imagination, and even being a kid, people looked down to me when they caught me talking alone. I cryed a lot because I feared someone would see me talking to my imagination... To the point that most of my imaginary friends has gone away to protect me of those judgements. I'm still very lonely, but at least I can play this game and hope that one day I'll be able to reunite with them. I'm sorry for any mistakes. I'm not very good writing in english ^^'

Hey, a little late to be replying to this. Know that you are not, in fact, alone, and that you are much stronger than you probably give yourself credit for. Posting your story in the comment section is already a big step and you need to know that you are not alone, even if it may seem that way. Millions of people around the world feel the way you do, and have probably gone through similar things, so know that, out there, there is someone that always understands you. I for one can really relate to the "talking to yourself" and such, since when I was younger, I was bullied quite a lot and noone ever wanted to play with me or talk to me in any way. When I grew up, however, I met the group of people that wound up changing my life forever, and as such, I became more sociable and talkative, so much as to become outgoing. Know that somewhere out there there is, and there always will be people that deeply care about you.

It's been years I became a shut in and rarely leave my house, because I'm working remotely and don't have any close friends.

Why can't this be learning material, in school? In my English class, we're currently examining a story about a girl who likes birds, but doesn't really have social relations, when we were comparing the story to other stories I said Finding Paradise, but my teacher said video games aren't "learning material". Please, I've learned more from this game than from my teachers class. P.S I saved a starling when I was little and had no friends, I named her Anya (I just realized I named my bird after a lighthouse) and she helped me break out of my shell. When I had to let her go, it was one of the worst things I've ever done, letting your only friend go is very difficult. Anya made me to who I am today, slightly more sociable. Thanks Anya.

This game has been such a big inspiration to me. I have extreme anxiety and agoraphobia, so it's very hard for me to do a lot of simple things (going to the grocery store, going on walks, etc). Watching Colin's courage to follow his big dream from a young age, and all on his own (with the push of Faye in his mind), made me feel like I could do so much if I just keep trying, no matter how hard it might get. To the Moon and Finding Paradise hold such a dear place in my heart, and just like Colin said, they were there for me when no one else was. I feel like I grow up spiritually with Gao's games. I sent "Everything's Aright" to my ex-boyfriend. I have depression from my dad's death and my mum's verbal abuse for years, but I suppressed and hid it from everyone. Not even my family and high-schoolmates know cause I thought nobody would understand and know how to comfort me. I worked hard and got good grades in school and got into uni. My classmates used to compliment me as a smart girl and have it all, but I was absolutely broken inside -- I had no one.... Made friends in uni but I've isolated myself for so long that I don't know how to really connect to people anymore. He was the first one who sees the pain in me. However, I guess his family was too happy to really relate to my story. So I sent him that song hoping he'll be with me even he doesn't understand. He left because we're too distant from each other. I was devastated for a long time, losing my direction for life. Until Finding Paradise came out and this song, making me realise, he wasn't really the one who saw me or be there for me. I WANTED someone to see me and be there for me so I imagined him to be that special. He was my Faye..... Thank you for your masterpiece Kan Gao and Laura in this much needed timing. "To The Moon" and "Everything is alright" was for my ex. "Wish My Life Away" is for me myself. "Thank you for having been there, even when nobody else was...." I need to to let my past go now... Need to thank my ex, letting me know how alone I made myself when I never needed to be like that.

What if i could have a chance to go back to try to do differently certain things. No need to say that i fucking cried like a girl on to the moon...(no insult intended :) ) "Cedrik,do you want to go back and realise your dearest dream,before taking a breath for the very last time..."that game...It just busted the abcess" Now Finding Paradise was like an antiseptic for my wound,i'm still loss,i keep lose what's left in my life to keep thinking of the past and what would i have been without all this shit.But maybe all of this was actuallt meant to be,and there something in from me around the corner.Kan Gao(and Laura's music) keep my cold heart alive,it hurt,but at least i feel something. Spoiler ahead: I wrote a review for this game, which I very much extolled, but listening to this song reminds me of what this game taught me. The lesson of this game reminded me that I tend to adopt a very negative outlook towards life. My friends have pointed it out, my family has pointed it out, even an ex of mine pointed it out to me. I never seemed to be able to cross the threshold of seeing things from a different perspective and have spent my entire life so deeply entrenched in that which was bad. When I played through this game, I may not have shed as many tears, but it hit me harder than even "To the Moon", which I didn't think would be possible. It hit me personally where I'd argue is my greatest weakness and Achilles heel. Colin spent so much of his life focused on his regrets, when all that Faye had to do in the end was nudge his memories in a different direction to focus on the good that came out of his life despite the mistakes he supposedly made. Now that I revisit the lyrics to this song, it makes all the more sense to me now. Perhaps the grass isn't greener on the other side, because it has always been that way for me. Rather, perhaps the grass is just as green on my side as it is elsewhere and I just haven't been able to open my eyes to it yet. A former mentor of mine once gave me a bracelet with elephants on it. She told me that perspective is like trying to eat an entire elephant (bear with me for this unusual metaphor, it'll make some sort of sense). You can either choose to start from the side, which you can therefore see the entire elephant and be daunted by the sheer size and task of it. Or, you can choose to start from the back, which given the odds, you'll probably get feces on you. Alternatively, you could start from the front, where you can see the elephant for what it is and yet not be daunted in the face of the task ahead. Perhaps I should start looking at the elephant from the front because it's going to be there, no matter how I see it, so maybe I should look at it in a way that won't tear me down before I even begin. Thank you for helping make this soundtrack yet again Laura, as well as thanks and applause for Kan Gao and FreeBird games for giving us yet another masterpiece of a game. I look forward to the next work of art you will all be producing!

This really got me. Her song "Everything's Alright" was the first song I ever heard my true love sing. When she would sing it, all of the pain from my life would melt away. She is gone now. The world around us was determined to rip us apart, and it succeeded. About a month after I lost her, I found this song. Upon listening to it, I cried the hardest and longest I ever had. Because for that month I had been numb of all feeling, but Laura brought it back with this one. Not only did it remind me of my true love, but it reminded me of the person she loved, someone I can still choose to be. The person I have chosen to be. In a way, this song saved him, saved me, and it gave me hope. Because the person she loved was a great person, someone who does his best atleast. It gave me hope that I can help people through pain like what I felt before I met her as she helped me, and perhaps, I can always remain as the man she loved and one day reunite with her. Either way, I want to make sure the world always knows that love wins. Because love is always worth it. Thanks Laura for your beautiful and inspirational writing.

I still feel that Finding Paradise has more emotional impact than To The Moon. Everyone says that it’s not as good but the game has improved a lot in comparison to its predecessor, the pace is slow and calming, it’s not as whacky as some scenes in To The Moon, and while not corporating a beautiful love story, the emotions felt real for a person who had to struggle just to face reality. I didn’t cry, but goddamn do I wish I had any tears left. This song, similarly to Everything’s Alright in the previous game, hit me like a truck in the cutscene in which it acts as the expression of the character’s heart. The lyrics are beautiful, the music can only be described as extraordinary , and delivers its message well enough. Lovely song, miss Laura. Hope you’re still making a song for the next sequel.

While To The Moon definitely left a bigger impression on me and while I do think it's the better of the two, I really don't want to downplay Finding Paradise. I'll admit it took me a bit longer to really appreciate Finding Paradise, but it's definitely a worthy sequel. I don't think it needs to be quite as good as To The Moon for me because it's incredibly beautiful and candid in its own right, and when you're judging art on this high a level, differences in impact will be negligible anyway. I love both as I'm sure everybody here does, and rightly so!

I'm simply in love with the chorus. Even if you embellish or fantasize a memory or an ideal, there's no shame in trying to attain it anyway. As someone who lost a dear friend and grandpa, there has not been a day where I don't wish they were here a bit longer. It took me years to finally understand that even though I can't change what already occurred, I can still honor what was through memories and living in their stead. Although I didn't have an imaginary friend, I did (and still technically do) live in a world of my own and I think a lot of people who live up in their heads know they have to get out of it one day and experience reality along with all the beauty and ugliness we so desperately wanna avoid because we know we're bound to go through hardships so for Colin to just willingly let go of it must have taken a lot of courage just for others' sake and it hit me so hard. I honestly just watched Finding Paradise to find out what happened to Neil but this story really hit way too deep for me I love this and the song so much...

I listen to this song because for me, its all about a relationship that fading. I experienced it and some of relationships may through up and down, lost interest, unintentionally hurt your partner and made mistakes. As long as you fight together it doesn’t matter how hard the situation is, it will work. Every mistakes, every problems, every misunderstanding. It will work when you communicate. Careful on what your partner like or dislike should be the most important things, it called respect. Mutual desires, effort, energy and being loyal to your partner. Well, for those reading my comment, i will pray for you to have a blessed and great relationship. (Never leave someone who is really love you unconditionally)❤ For those who is being left alone, you deserve better ❤ sending love n hug 🤗

My depression has been hitting me hard lately and I lack people in my life that I can just talk to at anytime and would just listen. So I turn to music to "talk to" and get emotionally attached to songs, whether It's the lyrics that speak to me or if it's just an instrumental it's the tones that speak. I came back here because this song (especially the first verse) pretty much describes how my depression effects me, I feel small compared to everyone and my voice is rarely heard and I struggle to get words out when I try to talk. Then I stumble and fall deeper down, then part of the next verse I have to learn to let things go, that's something I struggle to do, I dwell too much on the past but no matter how hard I try, for some reason my brain just wants to hold on to those bad and uncomfortable memories. This song has something I wish I had, that person to "teach me to fly". Your piano playing as well as your voice, are just so beautiful. And because of all that, the tears just automatically came rolling down my face, a few songs recently, have made me feel better little by little and made me a bit misty eyed, but been too long since I've had a nice cry like I had listening to this. Sorry for the super long post, I just thought you'd like to know how positive your music has effected me. Thank you so much for this Shigi! Stay amazing and never change ok!?

This song seriously makes a lot of sense with more context of Colin... I think that the lyrics to this makes the song more sad. It’s almost very bittersweet when you think of it. That’s why I think this song comes off more uplifting than “Everything’s Alright”. I still cried though because I seriously felt bad for Colin and relate to a lot of his struggles.

Ok I just drove by a playground with fresh snow on the ground right as the lyrics started, and the memories came flooding back. Such an emotional masterpiece. Finding Paradise has an extremely similar story layout as that of To The Moon, however, it twists the story differently to hit you emotionally in an entirely different way
@Aceedius5 жыл бұрын
Finding Paradise, like its' predecessor, left a huge impression on me when it first came out. Two years later, I'm just coming to terms with having Attention-Deficit Disorder and reexperiencing the game with my SO (who struggles with the same issues and helped me recognize it) was, as they say, A Fucking Lot. Whether or not that was the intention (and given how the first game tackled neurodivergence, it might be), Colin's idiosynchrasies are uncomfortably relatable to me in ways I've always known but only recently started to learn the words for, and this song refreshes that experience every time. What I'm trying to say is this song makes me cry a lot whenever I even start to recall the lyrics, and I'm deeply grateful for the part you've played in a work (as well as others) that means more to me than I can properly put into words. Thank you.

The saddest part is that Faye got a chance to feel like a real person due to the Sigmund machine. However this was only moments before Colin's death and the real Faye was erased forever.
@TheWildmanden4 жыл бұрын
It didn't really matter. Faye lived an breathed for and because of Colin. Her only purpose was to make the world more tolerable for Colin and with his death her role ended as did her reaosn to exist. I doubt she would have wanted it any other way

This song/game resonated within me. Like colin I use imagination as an escape. To fight the boredom I use imagination. Flash forward to me being 17 I by them built a multiverse within my head that continues each day. After also finding out I was autistic I realised that the fictional world a made in my head was a copeing mechanism. This meant that letting go of everything I created and love is impossible. This is the reason why everytime I see this game plot twist and ending it gets me cry everytime. I know that one day I need to let go of everything I ever created. For me leaving my creations behind is the same as abandoning family. But in the I guess I dont have to let them go at all I just need to learn the proper time to use them.

Colin has doubts. He is afraid that small mistakes and regrets plays a big role in failing his entire life. Yet, he already had. Colin had already had a perfect life, but doubting himself cause him to change his perspective by turning to Sigismund Corp. Mistakes, failure, and loss were not a strong implication of having a useless life. After all when we think about the best things ever happen in our lives we can say we are happy, we don't actually need a perfect one to be happy. Fae is just an imaginary friend, a figment of one's consciousness, a reminder of how our lives were perfect in our own ways.

Simple reason, I deeply and personaly connected with River's struggles as an Asperger, and comparing the two games is unfair. However. Finding Paradise is great, and this song is absolutly wonderful.
