Rhonda is so kind to show you new places to hunt, Maverick! The tree sap could be amber, look for trapped bugs in the sap. Just such beautiful finds, you two! If you hunt dry areas again, bring a big spray bottle of water to wet these beauties. Enjoyed your video and thanks again for taking us along with you. Thank Rhonda too, please. ☺️ ( Rhonda, auto-correct doesn't allow me to spell your name correctly, sorry dear ). ☺️

lizzymoore54 Oh Lizzy you have no idea, not only did she show me these amazing spots that took her a lot of time to find on her own, but she gave me everything! Like every single piece she found she gave. Just a genuine good hearted friend. Yeah that sap was fresh I think though. I would absolutely lovvvvvvvve to find some amber 😳✨ One day Lizzy! One day 😉 And yeah, next time, we’re gonna bring spray bottles haha! I think we were both just too excited to get out there that we didn’t even think about it 😂🤣🤦♂️ Have an amazing week ahead Lizzy!!!!!!

Rookie Rockhounding, yes it would be great to find a true piece of Amber ! I guess the Baltic Sea would be the next spot to visit for a true piece of Amber but you just never know. I'd have to do more research on this to understand why it's usually found there and not just everywhere where conifers grow/grew. I spoke to Rhonda on her channel, the other day and she's one sweet woman. Her property is just chocked full of lovely specimens. Lucky lady! I always enjoy your travels and I'm so happy for you that you have a new place to search and have made a new friend in Rhonda. Have a great week ahead and I can't wait to see what you do with your finds. ☺️

I love rocks123 , you are so very welcome and thank you for sharing! If I were able to get out, like I use to, I'd be near a clear, cold stream or river rock hounding. This is my favorite place to be. Were there streams on your property at one time in the distant past? From what I could tell, I believe so. I enjoy your excitement when you find a beauty to share with us because I too get excited when I find a pretty rock or gemstone. I think we were crows in a different life! I just love shiny and sparkly things, especially if they are rocks. ROCKS RULE! 😉☺️🙌

Michael Robertson It's all much a muchness, jasper, carnelian, agate are all the same rock mineral remaining after the bedrock has been weathered away.
@truckerenoch88245 жыл бұрын
@@symonsheppard5519 I didn't see where he once claimed that, "they weren't the same". And while it's true "they're all the same mineral", jasper and carnelian _completely different_ crystal lattice structures. Also, not *all* of those rocks are local. If you're not familiar with Washington state, there were giant chunks of bed rock from Alaska and Canada, brought by the Cordilleran ice sheet during the Wisconsin glaciation and the agates and jaspers weren't all "eroded" out, so much as they smashed to tinier pieces as the glaciers tilled trenches down to bedrock, smashing the larger chunks and distributing them across the state of Washington via rivers and flood plains and burying others underneath 100'+ of clay and other "glacial till".

It's so cool that I get to see the rocks that y'all have on the other side of the planet. It looks so nice and warm there, currently as I type this its -15 celsius outside. One thing to keep in mind is that its often rare for something like jasper, quartzite, and other materials to be in a very pure state and often these things can and do exist in a state of transition and lack purity. That doesn't make them any less cool to pick up just throwing in my three cents. 6:16 I would say that is pink/rose quartzite. 8:12 aventurine is often green, but it may also be orange, brown, yellow, blue, or grey. Doing a specific gravity test is a good starting point for it, should be between 2.64-2.69. Also you need like a wagon with buckets and just load up!
@iloverocks12355 жыл бұрын
The aventurine type stuff is unlike anything we've seen before. It's in nodules with a skin on it but inside it's translucent with sparkle with a fine grainy sugery look with tiny clear flecks through it. When I get the chance I'll find some of the pieces I've got and put a video up for a closer look. Now I need to educate myself on specific gravity tests!
@Rookie_Rockounding5 жыл бұрын
Currently Rockhounding Oh gosh yeah dude, I hear what you’re saying, and your three cents is always welcome here brother!!!! I’d say you’re right hey. A whole bunch of different stuff going on. I wish I had your knowledge but I’m soaking up any info honestly! Ha! Pink quartzite! Noicccccccce!!!! I’ll have to figure out how to do a specific gravity test. I looked it up once but never got to trying it. This will help though man. Thank you! And yeah we left the wagon and water at Rhondda’s place haha! Rookie error 🤣😂 Rock on brother and congrats on the 1000+ subs, honestly love your vids 👊
@CurrentlyRockhounding5 жыл бұрын
@@Rookie_Rockounding This coming week Ill throw up a video on how to do a specific gravity and what you need. Really all you need to do it is a good kitchen scale, a Tupperware container and some fishingline or dental floss. If it had happened I would only go under two conditions, when it's raining or shortly after especially really early in the morning or at night during the extreme dark with several forms of torchlight, all those opal eyes looking at you.

🤓🤸 Hallelujah! This was a LONG two weeks waiting! Haha And I am not disappointed in the slightest! (Like I would be anyway haha😏) This was a perfect video. I'll have to tell Rhon that she has nothing to ever worry about because she is nothing short of greatness☺ This was so fun to watch J! I have so much to say I should probably just email you but...nah...here goes 1:05- it's actually not a coating but actual Jasper. Petrified wood is made up of silicates. It could have Jasper, chalcedony, quartz, opal, etc. So I would call that jasperized pet wood. 2:12- 🕵 they thought you lost your rocks!😆 Haha just joking. Ok...not that funny 4:20- Tree sap. It is a gem! We call that Amber around here and it can be polished beautifully! You could start a Jurassic Park part 5 if you find a mosquito in one! Haha🤓 just saying 4:57- J says "can we find a big one of them?" Little pebble says "Ask and you shall receive...but how about something better!"...10:25😉 6:05- "Sorry I licked it!" 😂🤣LMAO YOU NEED A SQUIRT BOTTLE! Lol😆 6:17- I would say yes... Rose quartz. Pretty! 7:00- oh my word the smile on that dog's face... She was so happy to be with you guys. Too cute! That was secretly me in that dog's body by the way😄 8:15- 🤔not sure but my guess is quartzite or chert. I don't think it's aventurine. But it's really hard to say 10:25- 😯that is one of the most breathtaking pieces of Carnelian, Jasper, druzy lace Agate goodness! 😍 I mean...Holy flippin wonderfulness! (Yes, I like to make up my own language lol) Find of the day right there. Just WOW!!! Curious what you plan to do with that beauty. Are you gonna keep it as a specimen? Or give her a nice polish? I'd like to see if so. Too cool 11:45- Rhondda "You're not looking very hard" 🤣 LMAO BEST PART!....12:15- getting to see my favorite peeps together in one place having the best adventure ever! Since I couldn't be with you guys, this was the next best thing and by gosh I'll take it! This was EPIC J&R!!! My brotha & sista! Thank you so much for this. Great memories for life! Hey Mar! I reckon there's going to be an epic hunt there once we get our drought breaking rains! Soso funny you morphed into the pup haha! Beautiful doggy! There's actually three of them at that property and they are terrible watch dogs! They smothered me in kisses when I knocked on the door to ask if we could hound the paddock. The tree sap was really funny! I find that at my place and at first was tricked by it until I decided to smell it! There is old references to quality garnets being found in creeks about 10 mins from that spot. I want to go out and look around when it cools down a bit. I've never seen a rough garnet in real life. I do wonder if there might be some at this spot too though but I really don't know what I'm looking for as there are so many different kinds. xoxo

Red petrified wood is red jasper silicate that replaces the wood durring petrifying process.
@truckerenoch88245 жыл бұрын
Fun fact: the petrifying process can happen in as little as a couple years in the right soil or water conditions. There's incidences of farmers in Washington state replacing 20 year old fence posts that are completely petrified from the ground level down. Of course there's also _entire_ trees that were buried near the Mt. Saint Helen eruption back in the 1980's that were petrified in a couple years due to the high silica content from ages of volcanic activity in that area.

The rock at 11:03 on the video looks like a lace agate. Not sure . I had an interesting thought about the ant hill. Are the ants bringing those small pebbles up, and out of their mound ? It would be interesting to see if there are gemstones among the pebbles, after the ants have abandon their nest . How deep into the ground do the ants extend their living quarters ? Enjoyed !
@iloverocks12355 жыл бұрын
I think you're right Myrtha! I have the same ant hills at my place and they have much larger rocks 'placed' on their hills as well. These ants are so busy and are quite large, they leave what looks to be animal paths through the paddocks but it's actually dirt worn away from the ants running across the ground. I'm going to have to sieve through their pebbles now!
