I love how cars over there can be so old but still be so structurally sound. It baffles me if something sat out for me than 25 years that there's much left without being stored

Many crown vics were converted from Gas to CNG for a company or private use, I worked for a company a few years back that provided kits and conversions. we did mainly trucks for the gas company and vans for other companies.

The problem with guys like JYD or McCool... is that while they may have resurrected a car or truck out of a field, most of them ended up right back in a field! The only difference was who owned the field!! If they were really serious about preserving cars or trucks and getting them back on the road then they would pass them on to someone who would actually drive them on a regular basis as opposed to just letting them rot in a different spot on the map. In many ways, they're worse than the owners they bought the vehicles from. Why? Because they know better. Some irony? JYD actually did a "revival" video... on his own revival vehicles that were sitting in a back field on the farm owned by his parents. What I hope is that he has sold them off at some point to folks that will use them. Best wishes! 👍🏻👨🏻‍🏭🇺🇸 - Max Giganteum

better than letting the car the parts go towards end up in the junkyard by not being able to provide parts for it. vicious cycle and lots of variables in keeping old stuff on the road for the masses to be able to do themselves/economically viable.

Wait until you get to be my age... I cannot count the number of cars from the past that I not only never see in day to day life going down the road, none of them are in parts yards either! Those that still exist are stored away under a roof! I'm not referring to cars that were expensive or rare back in the day, I'm talking about ordinary, run of the mill cars... that just aged out or ran through their lifespan. Example? 1960s Comets, Falcons, the Ranchero. Parts yards had plenty to grab parts from in the 70s & early 80s... and you'd see them still on the road, on used car lots for cheap, etc. By the mid 90s? Most were off the road and long gone from parts yards. Nobody wanted them back then. A 70s Pinto? You couldn't give them away in the 90s. Now? Collectible with slowly rising values. It's almost bizarre. Best wishes! 🤔🤦🏻‍♂️👍🏻 - Max Giganteum

CNG Crown Vics were definitely a thing, and if you can get that 4.6, DO IT! Most of those CNG Vics were owned by City, County, or State government organizations, so the miles will likely be low, the maintenance is usually top-notch, and the CNG keeps everything inside the engine SO freaking clean that you almost won't believe it! I know because the City I work for had a few of these, and the oil came out like new, even after several thousand miles. On the Probe....they were OK cars, but the NA ones were dogs. My dad had an 89 GT with the turbo and the 5-speed, and that thing hauled ass....at least for back in 89. He had an 84 T-Bird Turbo Coupe 5-speed before the Probe GT, and I would take the T-Bird over the Probe GT any day, only because the Probe's FWD was a pain in the ass for doing burnouts. LOL!
