Hi Maddie, Jan here, from land-locked Austria. Even on your "slow days," you manage to find some wonderful shells. I love the patterns on the discrepant venuses. The little bear cowrie was an unusual treat! I am on K'gari right now. Not many shells on the beach near the Kingfisher Beach Resort today, but there were dozens of what I believe you call heart urchins (??), the little, fuzzy, white, super fragile ones that you sometimes find at Hervey Bay. I'll be on the other side of the island tomorrow, so I might have a chance to see what's there. Your videos have inspired me to visit this part of Australia and I'm so happy to be enjoying the Sunshine and Fraser coastal areas! Thanks so much for filming!

G'day Jan 👋🏼❤ Thank you for saying so; those slow days can turn up some really lovely shells (the Little Bear Cowrie was a very welcome sight), but I must admit that I do enjoy the more plentiful days from the video-making side of things. Oh yes, hello to you on K'gari!! I do hope the weather hasn't been too bad over the last few stormy days. How wonderful to find those Heart Urchins up there (they don't have a specific species name that I could find) and much luck to you on the other side of the island as well. I send you a little massage over on Facebook, and I hope you will enjoy what Hervey Bay has to offer once again. Be sure to check out the Pirate's Cave souvenir store if you have time; there's some nice shells to buy from there! Thanks for letting me know how you're going, and thanks for watching!~

G'day Annie 👋🏻🏖️💖 That Little Bear Cowrie is a very nice find; they don't seem to be a common shell anywhere...they are just a nice uncommon/rarer one anywhere you look for them 😁 Ohhh the baby bonnets in the bonnet egg casing!! I wish I could have seen the less-ambiguous shapes of the baby snails inside, but this was fun too 🤩 I hope the egg casing does OK with the poor weather, but nothing else can be done. Ahhh, it's been four days of wind and rain here after the King's Birthday long weekend, so I've been off the beach for almost a week...can't wait to get back out there!! And off the Hervey Bay on Sunday if the weather is looking good for it...the rain had really battered half of Queensland, it's crazy! I hope it's washed up some goodies. Looking at the weather reports, I think your little town is windy and chilly as well...I don't know how you manage it 😂 I hope you're coping with it as well. Thanks for watching 🥰 and thank you again for your Super Thanks 🙏🏻

Any day at the beach is a good day! 🏖️🏖️🏖️ Another great adventure Maddie. Those gray’s dog cockles really had stunning colors. Reminds me of the bittersweet clams I collected at Navarre Beach. That was a beautiful stombus Campbell shell! My favorite today was the grye triton. I love how flat and frilly they are. Boy, I feel bad for Florida! Getting another bad hit tonight. Not good. Thanks Maddie! 🥰🥰🥰

G'day Pam 👋🏻💖 That's so true 🏖️🏖️🏖️ and this day (and the next video) are sandwiched between the only non rainy, non weekend days over the last two weeks...it's been rough out there, but not as rough as Florida 😔 Hurricane Milton is popping up on the nightly news here; its looks awful. I hope it's residents in the most likely-affected areas are taking their evacuation orders very seriously. Enough gloomy thoughts for now, we have shells in front of us to look at 🐚! The Gyre Triton is a really chunky fellow; I hope I managed to identify is correctly as it really didn't seem like the typical species I usually find 🤔 Those dog cockles are a lot like your Bittersweet clams...I think they're the same genus? Very similar in appearance! I'm glad you liked the Strombus as well 🤩 Thank you so much for watching 🥰 and I apologise, I'm still catching up on your previous comments, so you will no doubt have more replies from me today too 😉 thanks for catching up after your time away; there's no place like home, right!??

High Maddie 👋 What a beautiful nature gifts 😍, have seen nice shiny cowrys and bonnets, a telescope dove🤩, also not frequent, the Gyrineum cuspidatum is a satisfying find 🤩, I agree on your choice and is also my favourite, the little Bear 🐻 Bistolida ursellus 😍 thought it lives the entire Indo-Pacific, is never common. Always beautiful videos 😍 compliments dear Maddie ❤️ thank you so much for your dedication ❤❤❤❤❤bye 👋 Francesco

G'day Francesco 👋❤ You have the most amazing memory for these shell! The Pyrene punctata is a somewhat common shell here... I'm just very selective; I like the really shiny maroon coloured ones! The Gyrineum cuspidatum was possibly my first time finding it; I hope it was the correct ID. Also, that Bistolida ursellus is a rarer one, but it's somehow been occurring here more often since all of the wet weather. It must have washed in from a nearby beach. As always, thank you so, so much for your wonderful comment; they bring me such joy 🤩

G'day Lindsay 👋🏻💖 I'm glad I found your favourite type of shells 🐚🤩 Gyre Tritons are just lovely little shells. I hope I got the ID correct for this one being a Corded Gyre Triton; it's textures and colour are a little bit different the the unusual one I find 🤔 but I don't see them often, so it's hard to know! I digress 😅 Thank you so much for watching 🥰

G'day Mimi 👋🏻💖 Ohhh the Little Bear Cowrie is maybe the first one you've seen 🤔 that's probably because they're quite rare at this beach 😲 though they have been popping up more after all of the rain and storms: I think they've washed in from a nearby beach that has them more regularly. G'day Annie 👋🏻💖 Oh my goodness, thank you so much once again 😲 I honestly don't know what to say... Your generosity helps so much; it's a massive support to what I do, especially after a string of much shorter adventures lately. Thank you so much 🙏🏻 this is really more than I ever expected (I know I say that a lot), but I truly mean it. The weather and shells have been rough over the last few weeks, but I'm hoping to turn my luck around eventually 😂 though summer is usually considered the slower shelling season, I think it will be interesting due to all of the storms. Ahhh speaking of, it's been quite rainy here; this adventure was sandwiched right between school holidays ending and the start of some rainy weather...and then more rain followed after the next adventure too 😅 Hmm, I wonder if I have any behind the scenes stories for this one? No really, but in general, I've been running into more families and shellers who have journeyed to Point Cartwright and wanted to say "G'day!" after watching my shelling videos 😲 it's surreal! One girl (eight or nine years old perhaps?) was shaking with nervous excitement to meet me, and said "I've never met a KZbinr before!" she was so sweet, but I don't know if I was able to convince her that I'm a regular person like everyone else 😆 she was so excited to show the shells she'd found with her dad and brother, and luckily I had a slightly worn Arabian Cowrie in my backpack to give her 😁 Over the last two or three weeks, I've wanted to apologize to the various beach visitors for the slimmer pickings, but that's how it is sometimes 🥲 I hope they enjoyed the little slice of paradise all the same; there is more here than just shelling 😉 but even with the wet weather here, it's at least warmer than down south...I hope you're keeping out of the chilly wind, Annie! Thank you so much for watching 🥰 and again, thank you so much for the support ❤️🙏🏻

G'day Trudy 👋🏻💖 Thank you for saying so; I've had a string of shore adventures lately, but it hasn't been for lack of looking or trying 😅 the beaches have me in a bit of a rut lately. Oh yes, we can get bad weather here sometimes; though any cyclones usually impact much farther north, and my precise location doesn't seem much flooding for summer storms. I'm not sure if bushfires count as bad weather, but it was pretty bad just before COVID...we haven't had droughts like that for a while, thankfully. No snow in Queensland though! I'm very, very relieved that you didn't get impacted by the hurricane... Are you likewise unaffected from Milton?
