I enjoyed all the amazing finds today. Our moon snails in the southeast of America look very similar to your bladder moon snails. You seem to have a bigger variety of shells at one location than we do. I have noticed that you have a very perky voice. It really wakes a person up.😃 Glad I found you. Blessings from South Carolina in America.

G'day Bridget 👋🏻🐚 Ohhh maybe?? I remember talking to a few people that day (heh, there were some teenage boys who wanted to be in the video to be "KZbin famous" but I'm not big enough for that 😂), hmm, this adventure was at Arkwright during the school holidays; were you taking your son out for some shelling there? For some reason, I remember a lovely trio of mum, son, and nan at Cartwright a few weeks later 🤔 I chatted with them at the shore for a while near the rock wall side...was that maybe you? I might have gotten my wires crossed 😅 but I hope you found some goodies out there as well!! Plenty of find...if you're not too busy watching out for the little one 😉 which is definitely a full time job 😂 Thank you so much for watching 🥰

Loved the brown lined. I never expected him to be so frilly or stick so far out of the shell. Really fun to see that. Congratulations on stepping outside your comfort zone into the dark. I would have been intimidated by that. Thanks again for taking me along, always fun!

G'day Mary Anne 👋🏻🏖️ He is a frilly boy!!! Bubble snail are really crazy; they are too big to fit into their delicate shells...it makes them quite fragile, I think 🤔 so that's why I choose not to pick them up, though maybe I'll let one sleep over my finger if it wants to 😂 Ahhh the nighttime adventure was so much fun, but not without it's hazards and safety concerns 😅 I'm so glad I was out there with a friend, I've always wanted to visit the rock pools at night at least once 😲 gotta chase those new experiences sometimes! Thanks for the the unusual adventure today 🥰

G'day Andrew 👋🏻🏖️ Haha, I love it!! He shall forever be Harold...though, I wonder if three children is really enough for him? Good morning Maddie and Mr.Sheller, I really enjoyed the live critters. Seeing so much movement between day and night. Seeing the brown-lined paper bubble shell, the limpit, and the stuff on the rocks. I forgot the names already. I would not go out without anyone else. So I think you did the right thing taking Mr. Sheller with you. Thank you both for another wonderful shelling and critters adventure. Have a wonderful day.

Hey Maddie! The reaction that you and Mr Sheller had with the UV light shining on the soft coral was my reaction through the screen! Although seeing it in person would have been so awesome! The squishy Chunky Boys were pretty cool to see, and I loved all the cowries. I’m so glad I got to experience a snippet of your nighttime shelling adventure! P.s oh my goodness, that bruise on your wrist😮 I hope you didn’t have a tumble on those slippery rocks😅
@SandCoffeeRocks3 күн бұрын
G’day Melanie 👋🏻🏖️ Oh gosh, that coral was even more impressive in real life!! Seriously, it’s worth taking a UV light with you if you ever go to a beach with rock pools 🤩 I’m glad you enjoyed seeing it glow as well 😂 and the chunky boys too, even though they don’t glow 😅 It was an exciting evening, thank you very much for watching 🥰 PS yesss it actually is a bruise from falling on slippery rocks about a week ago during the last shelling episode. I don’t usually fall on the rocks, but all the recent rain made them a little more slick 😭 I must’ve given it a good whack in the way down, but no real damage… didn’t even land in the water, phew! Thanks again 🙏🏻
@QTPA2TMEL2 күн бұрын
@ ohh Maddie😭 I hope you didn’t get too much of a fright with your slip on the rocks. I know it’s one of my constant little fears in the back of my mind when I’m climbing over all the rocks at my beaches. One of these days I’m sure to slip or tumble off an unstable rock. I really hope you’re ok! But I’m sure you are grateful for not landing in the water😅 I spouted your Facebook post and I left a little comment. I was so pleased to see your post! You’re always a highlight of my day. I appreciate all that you bring to your shelling adventures. If you ever find yourself in Victoria, let me know!
@SandCoffeeRocksКүн бұрын
@QTPA2TMEL Nah, I look at the slipper rock and though "that looks like a bad rock today...eh, I'll be fine if I'm careful" and the instantly fell on my butt 😅 my usual 'walk like flat-footed penguin' trick didn't work that day. Thankfully, the rocks aren't super high; at other beaches, some outcropping are 2 meters high from the water, so falling would be much scarier in those places. Be sure to take care on those rock too; I think Vic would be even more slippery because you don't have the baking sun to dry the rocks as much as up here? Also, thank you so seeing the Facebook post! I have, uhhh, about 60 shell display photos to show (one per day) to catch up on over there, so it will be a constant stream of shell photos for a while 😂 if it starts to feel like too much, maybe I will lessen the schedule 🤔 but I always feel guilty about falling behind on social media. Ahhh, once again Melanie, thank you so much 🐚

G'day Laattardo 👋🏻🏖️ Ohh, hello to you in New England... That's the place with the giant moon snails...or am I think of somewhere else? Maine? Anyways!! Sadly, the Arabians shells don't glow with the UV light 🥲 it would be fantastic if they did!! Only a few cowries shells glow, and I do shine the UV torch on my shell cabinet in one episode (here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eYDanYpnhKeIa8k ) with arabians in one section on the top shelf at the back (but not on the platforms) the main glowers are map cowries, green-tinted cowries, and Isabella and Lovely cowries, at least from my collection. Not sure which land snails glow...this might be an excuse to get more land snails!!! Hehe. Anyways 😂 Thank you so much for watching 🥰

G'day Shawny 👋🏻🐚 The UV is amazing 🤩 it's crazy that these creatures can make colours that we humans can't see without a bit of help...I wonder if the snails and corals can somehow see in these colours naturally, or if its a mystery? Great job Maddie! I have a small black light. I use it to illuminate calcite crystals in fossil shells.❤ Those sand flats look interesting at Hervey Bay. I've seen someone find big Baler shells out there. Would a friend go with you?❤😊 Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
@SandCoffeeRocks3 күн бұрын
G'day Trina 👋🏻🏖️ Thank you 😲 I'm thrilled the night time exploration worked as well as it did! Ohhh is it the calcite crystals that make things illuminate? I should have researched more 😅 anyways! As for Hervey Bay, I do go there quite often, but I enjoy checking the shore for a variety of shells...I suppose there are balers out on the mudflats, and I was talking to someone yesterday about looking out there one day, but how I never bother to bring my water shoes 🤣😛 it's a situation of my own making! Generally, I like sticking to the sand and mangroves sections because I think the video benefits from a larger variety and quantity of shells to show. I should bring some water shoes if I have a spare 30 minutes while making an episode, perhaps? There is never enough time while I'm at Hervey Bay before the tide comes back 😅 even though I'm usually out there for 6 or 7 hours! Oh my goodness, thanksgiving is this week, isn't it!! Happy Thanksgiving to you as well ❤️ and thank you so much for watching 🥰

Florida was once covered by water. They call it shell rock and can be dug up with large cranes. The use it to put down before they pave roads. You can find them wherever there is shell rock. There was a pit in mid Florida called Ruck's pit that had great specimens. Look up the old Ruck's pit not the one in Belle Glade Fl.😊 @@SandCoffeeRocks

I had a wonderful time out there; it was my first time seeing the corals under UV light, and Mr Sheller was so impressed too!
