Hi Maddie 👋🏼 Oh Wow! That Elegant Dog Welk in the beginning is ADORABLE 🤩 Darn! Shame you couldn’t keep the Phos shell.. That critter has a nice home 🐚 Okay, before I even finish the hunt with you, That Prickly Spotted Drupe is my top favorite and I don’t even have to state why 😍 Just look at that Fabulous, Perfect Bumpy Boy!!! Okay back to the hunt 😆 My other favorites are the Lined Dove Shell, the gemmy little Cat Cowrie, and the Music Cone!! That Eel looked like he was ready to attack 😳 I wouldn’t have bothered it either 🙂↔️😆 Thank you for taking me shelling with you!! Be Safe out there! TTFN 👋🏼 ❤

G'day Mimi 👋🏻💖 The Elegant Dog Whelk was extremely cute!! But I wonder if it was actually local to this beach; its not supposed to show up here. Heheh, so your top favourite was the Prickly Spotted Drupe in this one 😲 lumpy bumpy boy sure is lovely 😍 wait, that sounds weird 🤣 your other favourites sound less weird; that Dove Shell, Cat Cowrie, and Music Cone are all fabulous picks!! As always Mimi, thank you so, so much for watching 🥰

I loved the prickly spotted drupe shell. The colors were so vibrant and the shape is unlike anything I find when shelling in Florida (where one of my sisters lives). Hi and thanks from Jan in land-locked Austria.

G'day Jan 👋🏻💖 Oh wow, that Prickly Spotted Drupe caught your eye 👀 I'm glad I risked reaching into the deep water to get it 😁 my sun protection shirt dries very quickly, so it was no problem 😉 And gosh, it is quite different from the shells in Florida! You might find a drupe like this in Hawaii, though!! As always Jan, thanks for watching 🥰

Good afternoon Maddie, loving the oyster shells gorgeous. Banded dove shell beautiful. Love the rock shell. For some reason I'm very drawn to the drupe shell today. I find them to be so interesting. When you turn them over it reminds me of a toddler getting it's front teeth for the first time, almost bucked toothed and cute as a pea. Listen to me aren't I silly. Suppose I have to go with that big old clump of an oyster she's my favorite. You didn't get quantity but you did get an array of Cool and beautiful shells. Thanks again for taking us on a wonderful treasure hunt. You take care Maddie. Can't wait for your next video.

G’day Roberta 👋🏻💖 That Banded Dove Shell was a very nice surprise - mostly because I didn't know it was a new shell until I did my last minute research at home!! The Sertum Rock Shell was also a surprise... I can almost swear to you that I sighted a crab occupying this shell several months ago. I kept seeing it a few times, so I sorta remembered it. But then again, those Sertum Rock Shells all look quite similar with their patterns. Hahaha you know, I think those Prickly Spotted Drupes are a bit like baby teeth!! I almost think that the oyster's shape looks like teeth too, or maybe like the outline of gums? As it was a cartoon drawing almost. I think I'm going on too much of a tangent here!! A very slow reply from me this time, and as always, thanks for watching another big adventure 🥰

G’day Pam 👋🏻💖 Haha, I’m sure you would have been fine!! That eel was not able to get to me…be if we were both in open water together, then I would have been a bit worried too! Oh wow, you have so many favourites today; there really was a lot crammed into the video. The operculum was a nice little one, but I totally understand why the Drupe won over it 😉 Oh wow, so you liked the Banded Dove Shell 🐚 it was a pleasure to show it; it’s the first time we’ve seen this one! Oh and the Sertum Rock Shell too, it’s almost like your Banded Tulips!! Thanks for watching Pam, I hope you’re having a great week with the family and new baby Peyton 🥰

I thought the new shells would be your favourites this time 😲 but yes, the Prickly Spotted Drupe and Leafy Oyster were just too pretty! Ahhh, looks like a bit of rain is coming back over the next few days (just as the tides were getting low again…typical)! It’s been a wet first half of the year; not typical for so much rain during autumn. I hope the rain has finally left you as well as you head into summer. Thank you so much for joining me on another adventure 🥰

Hello Maddie! Oh, how I love the prickly spotted drupe, 😍. It is my favourite. Special mention to the sertum rock shell, banded dove shell, the little cat cowrie, and the ram's horn squid shell. Enjoyed spotting the live black sea urchin, and the eel as well. Always an interesting day at your beaches!

G’day Oveanluvn Gal👋🏻🏖️ The Prickly Spotted Drupe was a crowd favourite this time! I really wish that I could find them more often, it's a really exotic shell, even to my eyes. I'm so glad that you liked the other uncommon and unusual shells - that Banded Dove Shell is surprisingly eye catching for such a small one! Awww I'm also really happy to hear that you liked seeing the marine creatures. I do try to show mostly shells, but I also like seeing these animals in the rock pools sometimes, so it's a bit of fun to share the as well. Once again, thank you so much for watching 🥰

Cheers Maddie ! I love the assortment of shells today. My three favorite are the lovely black and white Banded Dove Shell and the Sertum Rock Shell and I thought the Prickly Spotted Drupe was very striking. Also, a special mention to the Varigated Sundial...reminds me of the beading on some Native art where I live. Hugs from Ontario, Canada..................Wanda

I’m a bit surprised that the Prickly Spotted Drupe is above the Migrating Moon Snail 🐌 Oh wow, the Leafy Oyster is a favourite too 😲 I almost wasn’t sure if I wanted to pick it up!! Finally, the Elegant Dog Whelk… the internet says I should not find it where I live. I wonder Nelly, do you find this shell at your beaches? It’s supposed to live in the Philippines, Indonesia, and northern parts of Australia (I live in the eastern part). Thank you so much for watching such a big adventure filled with little treasures 💖

Jeez Maddie , you have all the luck at Point Cartwright Beach! The two times I've gone there, at low tide, I've found nothing. Same with a few other beaches up there ☹️
@ShellingAdventures8 ай бұрын
G’day Lauren 👋🏻🏖️ I’m not sure about all of the luck, but I think my persistence pays off 😉 Awww Lauren, I don’t know where you are on the coast or inland, but it’s really crummy that you haven’t found anything 😞 it’s a big day out, and finding nothing is something I’m sorry to hear. There should be shells to find… If I may suggest; avoid weekends and public holidays because other families will be there looking for shells too. I usually arrive about 2 hours before low tide, and stay until maybe 30-60minutes after the lowest low tide time. What you find will also depend on the tides; high low tides will usually wash in minis, and the super low tides will open up the furthest rock pools to see what’s been sitting out there under the waves 🌊 Some areas of the beach have more shells than others, too, and luck does play a role in how the trip turns out. Persistence really is the key. And also being careful, because those rocks are slippery! I remember(?) that you mentioned looking at Hervey Bay for shells? Point Cartwright is much different; the shells are there, but they are so much harder to find. Hervey Bay is a place where you will stumble upon a lot of shells very quickly, the Sunshine Coast is the completely opposite so keep that in mind too. I wish you much more luck on your future trips 🐚🥰

@SandCoffeeRocks Hey Maddie, thanks for the reply. Yeah, I am in Brisbane, so it's a bit of a mission to go there and so disheartening when the shells are not presenting themselves. One time I went on a whim in the afternoon on the weekend and walked up the beach towards the lighthouse and rocks, lots of families and I didn't find much... next time I got there for sunrise during low tide and went to the left side of the lighthouse and found a handful of minis but nothing special.... and the rock pools appeared to be empty... then I've had another try one morning along Alexandra Headland and a few spots back down towards Point Cartwright and found absolutely nothing ☹️ for my Hervey Bay trip, I stayed there for 5 days, so I was able to hit the beaches every day and I was rewarded with an unbelievable bounty, including that big baler shell. I'll have to plan a little holiday up the Coast soon! Happy shelling!!
