G'day Annie 👋🏻🏖️ Oh my goodness, thank you so, so much for the Super Thanks 😲 you really do way too much 🙏🏻 I never expected anything like this, thank you for your generosity. I don't have a behind the scenes story for this one; it was just a clear windy day at the beach 🏖️ it was so windy that I thought the shells in my display would blow away! I set them up on the river side of the point next to the walking path... Lots of people walk past; I think at least three people thought I was crazy 🤣 I hope you are well. We are getting a heat wave here this weekend; will the weather be warming up for you as well? It might be a good time to get to the beach and find some shelly treasures 😁 Thank you so much, and thanks for watching 🥰

@@SandCoffeeRocks Your welcome Maddy 👌🏻🌈🌈 I think all the locals at my little beach must be noticing me collecting shells every other day , I have my little bag to put the shells in and with head down I take forever to get form one end of the beach to the other lol so much fun 🐚🐚🐚 We are cold and windy and rainy here atm did pickup another Pearly Brooch shell yesterday 🏆. Your lucky to have such gorgeous shells so close to home , happy shelling 🐚🪸🐚

@@johannaandrews Congratulations on your Pearly Brooch shell!! I know how they they are 😲! Is it lovely and shiny on the inside? Hahaha, yeah, I bet they k ow you by sight...they probably call you the "slow lady" in their heads...better than the "screamy lady" that they probably call me 😂 I think that maybe the locals on your beach might wonder what all the fun is about...you might see them collecting the shells soon! Also, I hope you weather improves...it's not supposed to be so rainy during winter!! Let the warm times come 🌞!

G'day Pam 👋🏻💖 Cowries and cones abound at this beach 🏖️ but yes, I knew you'd like those Operculums 😂! I'm glad that your favourites and mine matched up...looking back, I think the Club Murex should have been a favourite, but I was too biased towards the cowries 😅 The Black-striped Triton is sooo unusual; I can't remember if I've ever seen this one here before? Must be a rarer one to wash up. Oh the Tent Shell as well; they have been making an appearance ⛺ Thank you so much for watching 🥰❤️💖

The cowries with their speckles 😍 The baby triton is my top favorite here too!!!! Bring a little water spray bottle that way when you set up your shells at the end you can mist them down to get the full color in them. Just a suggestion-I do that sometime when taking pics on the beach of my finds 👍🏼 Have a great weekend!
@SandCoffeeRocks3 ай бұрын
G'day Roxann 👋🏻💖 The little baby was a cute one; I think it must be relatively rare to see washed ashore here? Anyhoo! I have thought about spritzing the shells with a bit of water or oil at the end, but I always stop myself for a lot of reasons... I think I mostly want the video ending to be as close to the true experience as possible? It also makes me strive to find the best shells that I can, and show people just how lovely they can be without any work. Yes, I do understand how spoiled I am by the beaches here to be able to say that 😅 Thanks for watching 🥰 and keep any suggestions coming; I'm always looking for ways to improve and reflect; sometimes I don't see a problem unless it's pointed out to me~

@SandCoffeeRocks3 ай бұрын
G'day Francesco 👋🏻🏖️ I was very surprised to see the Pterynotus elongatus; I'm told that it's a shell that lives in deeper water, so seeing it in the rock pools is quite rare. I wasn't sure if Septa hepaticum was the correct ID... Atlas of Living Australia seemed to think it was a Septa occidentalis?? I think S. occidentalis isn't correct though 🤔 that shell species had a lot of angular textures that this one doesn't have. But it's hard to know for sure. Oh sorry Francesco, the Dicathais orbita is very common...but I don't like them very much, so I don't collect many to show 😅 I know, I'm terrible! Thank you for coming along on another shelling adventure 🥰
@francescocorrias66333 ай бұрын
@@SandCoffeeRocksHigh Maddie 👋 🥰 , Poor Dicathais orbita 🤣🤣🤣 . There's should be strong currents from the deep and slopes to make a shell come up on the shores, like Pterynotus elongatus 👍 Bye Maddie 👋❤️❤️🐚

Hi Maddie, summer is hanging on by its finger nails, just,but autumn is not far off, you can tell by the subtle changes and big spiders in the house, nothing like you get in Australia though! 🕷️😮 Always love a visit to the beach with you and to see what shells you will find, very exciting. ❤
@SandCoffeeRocks3 ай бұрын
Ahhh that sweet summer, but I'm sure you won't miss the rains that it brings...do you get summer storms? Hahaha ahhh, spiders are creepy no matter where you live 😂 but yes, I think most Australians have things to say about spiders 🕷️ I won't bore you with the horror stories 😉 As always Alison, thank you for coming on these beach trips with me. Oh, I've been meaning to ask; do you ever (or have you ever) make the big trip to that Jurassic Coast beach with all of the fossil seashells? I think it's on the side side of England; not exactly close by!

@SandCoffeeRocks3 ай бұрын
G'day Nelly 👋🏻💖 You find so many shells that I'd call "rare" too - I still can't believe that you find those big cone shells! Though saying that, the Club Murex is a rare find for me too; it's usually a deep water shell, so it rarely washes up to the rock pools. The Septa Triton, I don't know, but I've never seen one here; only in shell books 😲 I'm glad you liked the Sand Snail as well 🐌 Ok yes, I suppose these ones are an uncommon lot, but I still think the shells you find are rare for me too!! Thank you so much for watching 🥰

@@SandCoffeeRocksAha, the 'deep water shell' make me so interested on shelling😂 I hope i can find them here, Yeah, i think some shells are common in one place,but so rare in other places,
@SandCoffeeRocks3 ай бұрын
@@nellyjune9828 It just means that this species doesn't live in the shallow rock pools; it lives deeper in the reefs, I think 🤔 so the amount of time that one can get washed out of the reefs and up to the rock pools is very rare. For the beach here, many areas of the rock pools that face towards the ocean are like giant rocky steps or ledges...big shells can't make it up the steps even with the waves pushing them along (the "steps" are taller than I am, and run along the length of the beach). The section with the murex has less of a step up from the deep water 🌊 or maybe the waves are rougher there, so there is more force pushing on the shells 😉🐚
