I am now 78 years approximately . My BAZURG belong to village GURGUSHTIAN. Sir Ganga Ram ji gave employment to the grandfather of my father , as MUNEEM . When my grandfather passed 8th class he was also brought to Lahore. At Lahore my grandfather , in due course of time became ADVOCATE There after , was sent to England and returned as BARRISTER. This was due to support of Sir Ganga Ram ji , only. OUR FAMILY USE TO REMEMBER HIM AS " LALA JI ".

Dear Sir, i am really grateful to you for showing the city of Lahore where my maternal grand parents moved from to Delhi during partition. I am born and brought up in Mauritius and i have heard stories of Lahore and of the partition from my mother. While moving to Delhi, they thought that it would be only temporary and that they would go back to their home in Lahore one day. Through your videos i am discovering the galeez of the city and houses and this is taking me back to the early 1900s and imagining how my ancestors lived and how their houses must have been. I live in Delhi and had the opportunity to visit Sir Gangaram Hospital. There is his statue at the entrance lobby. It was really interesting to know about him and his contribution written on an information board installed nearby. I wanted to know more about him and this video has full filled my wish. He has narrated it beautifully. Being from architecture background myself I always wanted to explore more about his contribution in this field. It is good to see that his house is still in a very good condition. We have so many historical place in both the countries Hope one day we could get the chance to visit them in person also.

Very nice video. Shows how the Sikhs, Hindus, Muslims, etc. of the subcontinent (who mostly have the same roots) can not be divided since we are blood brothers. Nevertheless note Doulat Ram Agarwal the father of Sir Ganga Ram was a Bania from Uttar Pradesh and not a Punjabi. These Banias though merchants are very generous, intelligent and have the highest of morals in general. Thus widely respected. Birlas are known for philanthropy. I have interacted with them closely since I had part of my education in U.P. Sir Ganga Ram was educated at the Thomason College of Civil Engineering (now IIT Roorkee), which was then and is still a world class institution.
