Good to see you back in the shop with your little helper. August is adorable. Finding balance is a process, but you'll get there. I know others have mentioned it, but make sure you are taking time for you and that you're getting sleep. Remember, you are doing better than you think you are, we all do. Those first few months can be overwhelming, but soon it will even out. Take care and enjoy yourself.

Hey Linn! Rule #1: when the baby sleeps, You Sleep. Carve some time out for you & you alone a few times a week. You will eventually find a balance. It’s not so easy right now, but it will be soon! Take good care-you have a little cutie pie!

I’ve used what I call a front pocket wallet for years. You can see them at most Kohl’s or Fred Meyer but they’re not real popular. What your looking for is one with ID holder facing outside of wallet. So that you just flash the side of you wallet without opening it when ID is required. Then it opens to expose a single money clip and slots for about 4 credit cards. I can carry about 10 bills in it with ease. Then about 4 different cards, a place to slide in ID to face the front and maybe a health card. Then a pocket on outside where i put receipts, yea, i still keep them. I can’t find a high quality one but what I have last about 5-6 years. My checkbook is hand made and has lasted 40 years. Make a nice one you may get a customer or two, they’re handy for an active guy and real secure in front pocket. Good luck with the billfold I can hardly wait to see what you come up with, know it will be worth watching, and BTW nice kid! Looks like a keeper.

Congrats on your handsome addition. August will afford you many hours of joy! As for your wallet dilemma---The only place that actually needs a bit thicker material is the outside cover. Right? So, the inside dividers could easily be the thinner upholstery leather you also showed. Perhaps a mix-and-match product would be pleasing as well as functional?

You are doing great Linn. The best thing for you is to sneak in some creativity everyday. You will find the balance. It is so wonderful to here little August cooing in the background. It reminded me of my son Jonah in my art studio when he was a babe. He is twelve now and says that growing up around his moms creative space is one of his favorite things of childhood. It makes for a well rounded child.

Hi Linn, It is 99% baby and 1% you at first, but it will get better, Just make sure that you get some sleep. The older he gets the more organised you can get, so just give it time. I think the pictures are a great idea but need to be displayed and not put in a box. The big disadvantage of digital cameras is that you get the pictures but they end up in the camera or stored on a hard drive, with 35mm film you have to produce actual pictures so putting them into a box is the same as on a computer so don't hide them away. Take care of yourself and don't worry about making videos, you supporter do understand.
