Best I recall, points awarded for “equipment secured” is in regards to theft deterrence, aka using security fasteners or otherwise making it harder to just unscrew/unbolt you’re equipment and remove it.

I haven't seen the system, but from what you described you lost the point in "equipment secured" because the hand held hi res player was not secured.
