An example is done that shows how to calculate the area of a trapezoid using trigonometry (sin, cos, tan). Starting with the classic formula for the area of a trapezoid, we notice the height is missing. We then notice a right triangle for which we know an angle measure and a side length. This allows us to apply trigonometry, and find the key missing dimension (the height.)
