3:03 - Also, just to point out, Jinx fixing Sevika's arm isn't just out of love, it's atonement. You're probably wondering what I mean. How did Sevika lose her arm in the first place? Simple: through the monkey bomb created by Jinx back when she was Powder. Sevika lost it while trying to protect Silco from the blast. Jinx is basically not only doing it because it's something she can fix, but she's fixing a mistake she made years ago.

Jinx is the living proof that just because you accept a label someone gave you, it doesn’t mean that you actually enjoy it. She loathes her “Jinx narrative” every second of it, and yet she believes that there’s no way out.
@Ulick3Күн бұрын
I think Jinx saying “there’s no good version of me” was the saddest any single piece of dialogue has ever made me feel. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen another piece of media so perfectly capture that feeling of hopelessness and self hatred as well as that. The way Ella Purnell delivered it was perfect as well. That sort of dejected shrinking she put into it was so on point.
@peagames2002Күн бұрын
I think the way Jinx turned the tides for Vi and herself and switched the roles of 'protector' was so powerful, that it made me cry harder than the supposed 'death' of Jinx. She could've walked away, but she chose to be there for her despite knowing her flaws and overall messy past.

Jinx is a character I hold dear to me. Solely because so so much of her dialogue and scenes. Albeit with different circumstances and some different things happening to her. Hits so close to home it might as well have hit my bedroom window. I know she is a fictional character, but I can’t help but wish I could have been there for her.

In 14:18, I can also see Jinx's purple streak can be a way of her remembering her mother, Felicia since she also has purple/violet hair.

I think it's safe to say we all wanted to see her and Vi reunite, be happy, and finally break their shared cycle of family trauma. But this ending gives them both an opportunity to walk away. Vi couldn't, so Jinx did for them both. Vi is no longer a slave to her family loyalty, Jinx is no longer a slave to her former identities. They are both, in a tragic but beautiful way, freed from their respective prisons. A bittersweet ending for sure. I want so badly to see a future series showing them living happy lives. But it would almost cheapen the ending we got in season 2.

Every single time, you manage to rip my heart out and wring me dry with tears. This is such a beautiful heartfelt message of love for Arcane and Jinx’s character that I needed to know someone else felt this way too. When the seasons first arc episodes got released, I had reached MY lowest low. But I stayed around, but not because I still wanted to. Then the last arc episodes came out and the scene with “Wasteland” happened, I relived my experience but with Ekko’s message. The only other show that has connected with me that deeply is Fullmetal Alchemist which you’ve also done beautiful analysis of. Please keep making amazing videos like this, I look forward to seeing you upload!

Jinx is my favorite character of Arcane. Didn't expect her to redeem herself but I'm so glad. In my eyes I feel out of everyone's arcs hers went full circle. She managed to be sympathetic and tragic at the same time. And I didn't expect her to try and make a difference. I feel Jinx's story is beautiful in Arcane because surprisingly out of everyone of the show she managed to learn from the past, learn what she done was wrong, and wanted to change. Is it sad she was unable to see Vi and reunite with her. Yes. But I feel Jinx realizes everything has changed and she wants her sister the best. And as a result I'm happy about her ending. Of letting go of the past but also healing.

Jinx in season two ended up with more agency than Vi or caitlyn. Ans her character arc was handled okay instead of a hot mess… I want to know other people’s opinions on this. To me, isha is a young Vi not a young powder. Both in personality and actions. Jinx was shy and avoidant. Isha runs head first in to danger and is honestly reckless. She is competent and defiant. Just like young vi. I know junks sees isaha as a young version of herself. However it is easy for people to miss what is tight in front of them of them. What i am saying is Jinx can consciously she isha as her younger self. But subconsciously see isha as a young vi. Not that she want to protect and guide a younger version of herself, but i think on some level she wants to take care of Bi the way that bi took care of her. If this makes sense.
@AutumnRose139722 сағат бұрын
I didn't think of it this way but Isha's actions definitely reflect more of Vi's personality. Maybe Jinx says she reminds her of her younger self in that she's innocent and still has dreams/hopes.

A person shaped by tragedy. The forces and events that shaped her and then trapped her, a prison made from circumstance and then herself. I am glad that Jinx was portrayed and written so well for the reasons you pointed out. Such a nuanced character at every level. A fantastic analysis.

I have watched the whole series up until episode 8 of the second season thinking Vi was a great mirror of who I am or how I think. Guilt of responsabilities that were and are not mine just because I exist. Then Silco dropped that monologue and it was so fitting of how I, like many, cage ourselves in cells that don't exist. The prison we create in the idea of situation or society we live in are purely hypotethicals and are not really rooted in reality. Not everyone has a Isha to heal our innerchild, but we can be an adult that fosters a new life that would give hope to our innerchildren. It was somewhat an eyeopening moment hearing it from arguably someone that created one of those cells for Jinx tell her that she can break the cycle by making her own life by walking away. I think it's everyone's hope to have the person in your life that influenced you the most, likely a family member, free you from the guilt and responsabilities they unconsciously put on you. Perhaps we don't need that to free ourselves

Love your analysis, Sage. Honestly, Jinx has the best character arc of season 2 without a doubt, but it's fascinating seeing you articulate all of the depth and cleverness of her arc. Now that she's starting again, I wonder if it would make sense for her to have a new name? She's not Powder anymore, but she's not really Jinx anymore (not in the way she was defined by Mylo, Vi, and especially Silco). She's not even the Isha version of Jinx anymore. She's someone else. So, new name?

Something bad happens to you in life. And you start to wonder if you're not you anymore. If you'll never be you again. But you wake up the next morning and you're still you. And you realize that was you all along. You just didn't know. Perhaps it's best to acknowledge that for some reason certain people have had that bad day happen to them and some didn't. Maybe that day hasn't come yet. Until then they're a good person, but suddenly after that they're bad? Can we safely say that we are the sum of the choices we make in life? Is it really that simple? I wish I knew for sure. But then again, there's truth to uncertainty.

The worst part is that Jinx didn’t see Isha’s sacrifice as a testament that someone loves her in spite of her bad reputation, but she saw it as a “yet another” testament that she brings suffering and death to everyone around her, especially her loved ones.
@SpiritOfLeninКүн бұрын
@@veronicapiccinini7956 Yeah, because she's stuck in that idea of herself being 'the jinx', the reason and cause of all misery in her life. It isn't true, but it isn't an easy idea for her to get rid of. One day, I'd hope, Jinx will let herself look at Isha's sacrifice as the act of great love it was.

I know I'm wrong because of the Linke comment and the number of fans' opinions to the contrary, but what's on screen and in my ears never convinces me that Ekko gives Jinx hope for her own future. This show is stunning for it's ability to make the viewer find their own answers. Ekko convinces Jinx not to pull the pin because she can build a better world, but for whom? "Someone worth building it for" to me was still Jinx trying to build a better Vi, free of her duty to protect Powder, to inhabit that better world; but I can definitely see it as Ekko trying to convince Jinx that it's never too late to build herself back better. I bring my own pessimism to the interpretation 🙂.

Jayce spoke entirely from privilege, though. He has no idea the amount of pain that comes with being disabled, the terror that comes with actively dying, to have everything and everyone around you ignore and forget about you the moment their back is turned. It also was just a poorly made bridge to get and Viktor's ego/humanity. Jayce just wanted his partner back. He aays so himself. Also, no, not everyone can escape their personalities. While it's true that no personality is set in stone, it is often trauma that shapes it and all we learn from the hits is to hide ourselves from the world. I also don't believe self-sabotage is the only reason why we fail. People become needlessly aggressive with those they deem unworthy. It's primal, whatever it is, but that doesn't make it right. We've got to work on that, as a species, before we can ever place blame on the victim.
@corbanbausch904920 сағат бұрын
While you are right, the nuance here is that *everyone* is a victim of *something* while also being a perpetrator. That’s why things are cycles. Hurt people hurt people. And the people they hurt then go on to hurt others. The council’s inaction killed Powder’s parents, caused the poverty that led the kids to rob Jayce, leading to the events that led Powder to accidentally kill nearly her whole family. And then, a hurt Jinx took out her anger on Piltover, killing Cait’s mom. And Cait, now being hurt, terrorized the undercity. No one is truly innocent, no one is _only_ a victim and very few are _only_ a perpetrator.

I find it touching how much of Silco Jinx actually keeps in her new self, I found it interesting How AU Powder boils down to Silco, even in the Arcane Artbook would make you question Who Jinx's biological father was...I know it is canonically Connol, but come on when you see what Young Silco looks like in the Arcane Artbook. Dang it is a Male Jinx, Anyhow AU Powder dressed in Silco's Black and Red Style and it suits her well, yet her hair was more like Vander's. AU Powder wore Young Silco's bracelet around her neck with Vi's necklace from the scene where Felicia telling Vander and Silco about being pregnant. Well Jinx's new Self she decided to keep Young Silco's long front bang,Jinx just dyes it representing embracing both sides of herself. Jinx also kept Young Silco's bracelet around her neck, and lastly Young Silco's Glove from when Silco and Vander were still working at the mines. Jinx truly loved Silco as much as Vander,to keep those things close to her after all she has been through is a testament of how much He meant to her.I think Jinx got on that Airship and was heading to BilgeWater if the Arcane Artbook's clues are true, aside from Jinx falling for Ekko in the deleted scenes Jinx had drawn a Heart over BilgeWater and apparently Powder was supposed to Go to BilgeWater at the End of S1 ACT I and return after the timeskip with her pirate like pants. I think Ekko has a feeling Jinx survived and left, justs as Caitlyn seemed to figure out.

The series is not about love lol. Not AT ALL. It is literally about the Chaos of the Arcane itself. Every time someone attempts to establish their version of Order, the Chaos of the Arcane disrupts it and brings it to a state of Disorder. Right up to the very end. ALL PLANS FAIL. That is Arcane. And that's why Jinx is the true main character. She is a literal representation of that Chaos. Even when she tries to kill herself, she is disrupted every time. Or she simply survives. And if the theories are true, and she and/or Warwick are still alive, even her sacrifice was a failed attempt. ARCANE IS CHAOS, not love lol. Love just happens to be Chaotic, so it's a prevalent representation of the Chaos. The ONLY character who FULLY accepts this is Isha. She doesn't try to maintain any order. She seeks to bring forth Chaos and sees Jinx as the best opportunity to do that. She sees Jinx as the Avatar of Chaos that she is and literally WORSHIPS her for it; even sacrificing herself for her, with a smile. And that's why Isha is THEE best character in the entire show.
@ravenjo9145Күн бұрын
i think it's more your vision of things that's chaotic, everything jinx has done from beginning to end has always been to be loved by others, she has no ambition or desire other than that, her desciption fits perfectly with jinx's psychological state, whether it's her vision of sacrifice, death or love, it's all good, jinx isn't just the destructive character from lol who destroys just to destroy, there's a psychology behind her actions every time, and it's constantly changing because of her environment.
