Sangtae overcoming the trauma and letting go of gangtae is growth. While gangtae being expressive now and speak his mind is truly a character development. Mun yeong on the other hand, is more empathetic towards others and learns that a bad memory may not be erased, but you can surely cover it with something even more beautiful..A show of comedy, romance, family and emotional well being. Not your typical kdrama that's why this is the best of the best. All the efforts the production had put on to have a show this good is unreal. My favorite trio, Sang-tae, Gang-tae and Mun-yeong.. you may have gone through a lot in life but all of you are just kids that wants to be loved. The ending is very realistic, these three are working on character development, healing and growth. I wish I could say more. But one thing is for sure, I wish I could watch the show like I had the first time. 🤍 Saranghae, saranghandago, saranghandanika. Jinjja neomu neomu saranghae!!!! Thank you so much for uploading MiMi. I still cried even though i have watched this a hundred times. This show healed me, and will always be my comfort drama. I appreciate all that you do on this channel. Here I will say something that is probably an unpopular opinion: I think that any work of art, but not only, should be published, regardless of who the author is, even if he were the most evil person in this world. Obviously the reference here is to the manuscript of Do Hui-jae's last book ever published which, as we see, will not be published by Sang-in (at least presumably, given that, from Seung-jae's words it would seem that he will return the manuscript to him later having hidden it to spite him for how he treats her). This is because I believe that artistic production and not only is an enrichment for everyone and it is therefore right that it is published. This, of course, would not, in any way, absolve the criminal person (Do Hui-jae in this case), nor would it be a reward for him; obviously, I realize that the opinion I have expressed is controversial, because in any case the works of criminals can be a source for the spread of dangerous ideas in the most extreme cases; but in any case, on a general level, except in particular cases, I remain with my opinion: art belongs to everyone. Having said that, the ending of this drama is perhaps one of the best possible conclusions of a show in general, not so much for the splendid closures of all the various storylines, but for a narrative journey made on the characters which is of notable growth and which has been brought forward and concluded here with a grace that would be the envy of any screenwriter out there. Sang-tae is the one who, more than anyone else, emerges from this story, whose path of maturation is something commendable: we met him who was at the mercy of his trauma and totally dependent on his brother who was more than a burden for he; but thanks to the closeness of the other characters, Moon-young in the lead and having faced, often with pain, all the things that kept him stuck, a character emerged who became a true adult, the older brother who dreamed of be, but above all he learned to understand his brother, to understand his emotions and what made him happy. It was a very long but rewarding journey like few others. In the case of Kang-tae, who repressed everything inside himself, until it exploded like a volcano every time he reached the limit, hiding everything with a false smile, he learned to finally be himself, honest with himself and others , to pursue one's own happiness and not cancel oneself only out of duty towards one's brother or anyone; this is also due to the meeting with Moon-young which was what he needed: a person who would bring out those dormant emotions. In Moon-young's case her change is perhaps slightly more subtle than the other two, because she has gone from an almost petty cynicism, seasoned with a caustic character and a bit of misanthropy, to a real altruism and concern for others (although the caustic character remains mostly) and this thanks both to the two brothers obviously, but also to the reconciliation with Joo-ri and her experiences with the various patients of the clinic. In short, seeing these three, from how they started and seeing where and how they arrived at the end is something that makes you happy and moving. In any case, the final moment, that of separation, has a bittersweet taste, because obviously on the one hand you understand the importance of that moment, but on the other you wouldn't want them to always be together, but in reality it's right like that, because now the two brothers can express themselves fully: Kang-tae with Moon-young and Sang-tae working and living alone doing the work he loves. So many emotions all together. There is little to say about the final confrontation between Moon-young and her mother, also because I had already written much of what I think in the comment on the previous episode, but without going into metatextual authorial intentions of what it may mean or minus Moon-young's disinterest in his mother, obviously, on a purely narrative and character growth level, the answer is given to us by Sang-tae: you can't erase the bad memory and maybe you shouldn't, but you can cover it with something beautiful, better that replaces the sensations and emotions that it emanates. I think it's a nice message and it shows, once again, the acquired maturity of these characters. A few scattered frivolous thoughts: While it's pretty explicit that Sang-in and Joo-ri get together in the end, I would have preferred something more official and romantic than their pinkies touching, but I guess I'll have to be okay with that. As always, Sang-in's actions are questioned and I'm obviously referring to the issue of the manuscript since he said he wouldn't take it and instead then we see him rummaging through the garbage looking for it: I found the whole story, actually, rather funny, because in any case Sang-in remains a character who tends to be tragicomic and still practical, because, as he rightly says, paraphrasing, you never know what dark times there may be in the future, so any insurance is a good thing. Then, if we want to imagine beyond what is shown to us, I doubt he will ever publish it, he cares too much for Moon-young and stayed with her even after he ended up bankrupt; so I think it's more of a joke about his misadventures. Seeing all the old patients again at the end was so nice and, as mentioned, wanting to give closure to all these stories was a nice touch. I appreciated that at the end of the episode they showed the wrong takes: it was a brief moment to see some real lightheartedness from these people who, with their hard work, gave us a beautiful work of art. It is not so strange that the scenes on the balcony of the castle were a separate set with the blue screen: it is unthinkable that all parts of the house, as well as the hospital and other locations, are a single place, because it is difficult to find locations that they reflect 100% all the needs of the script and it is equally unthinkable that they could be built entirely in one place; almost certainly many of the interior scenes will have been soundstages, as always happens. I recently saw a short behind the scenes look at The Atypical Family and the main location is actually an artfully constructed set. Thanks for the reaction to the whole drama, it was very nice to see it with you, you're good at this. Off topic: if you want to stay on the same theme as this recently concluded drama, you should see Daily Dose of Sunshine, which I have already recommended several times, I don't think you will regret it.
