Nicely done! Brasov is one of my favorite cities in Romania (spent a week there). a shorter mountainside hike (10 mins) is up to the black tower and white tower which are barely up the hill to the north of the central plaza. maybe you can check those out along with Rope St on your next visit (assuming you are heading over to Bran and Rasov)

Man, you really hit bad luck, Brașov hosted a huge festival with boring stuff, and the main square was closed. But hopefully you'll get back some other time, and you'll see it then. It's pretty grim in late autumn, but it's awesome in early autumn, so kind of about now and the next month or so. :)

Since you're in Transylvania, you HAVE to see Bran Castle (the so called Dracula's castle), Sibiu, Sighisoara (the only medieval town still inhabited in Europe), Alba Iulia Carolina (the biggest fortress in Romania and one of the biggest in Europa), the numerous fortified churches in Transylvania, the Hațeg bisons, Hunedoara Castle (it's GORGEOUS!) etc... And i hope you visited Peles Castle from Sinaia, on the way to Brasov, it's one of the most beautiful castles in the world, like the one from Hunedoara. But this one is not medieval, it's from the 19'th century. P.S. your girlfriend has a Romanian "je ne sais quoi", she's so cute :)

*Kronstadt* is a very beautiful part of olde Transylvania. Modern day Romania call it now 'Brasov' - as we see now everywhere in print and media last several decades but it has a longer history and a longer foundation in culture from the ancient Saxons going back several hundreds of years and so it is not understood why this is now sadly ignored. This post is absolutely not political but very Cultural. It is just wrong to deny the beautiful city its original Saxon Heritage. *Kronstadt/Brasov* can both as two historical names be side by side in Harmony in the now the modern day. Tourists sincerely appreciate history in its full reality. Past and Present both can be successful together. It really is every step forward into the future √
