A classic morning coffee video. The axe heads and straight razors always get my attention. I thought you were going to go for the fish knife ! Sometimes restraint is a good thing lol Well done George !

@ I was given a green Girl Scout knife by a 90+ year old friend because her daughter who is now in her 60’s considered it junk. It’s beautiful.

The thing that bothers me most at places like that with all the glass cases is you always have to find someone to open them so you can see the prices. That one place was pretty good about having the tags in view but the prices were very high! Thanks for the video George!
@2ndchancegeorge5 күн бұрын
Yep, one place I go to the Lady said owner requires the price be clearly shown at all times. The locked case I understand because some of the valuable stuff in is small easy to walk out with. And they knives...lol. be safe my friend

Lol..thankyou. It was a good excuse to get out and about. Winter here can be harsh and garage sales and swap meets are few a far between. Fortunately the Antique shops are not affected. Appreciate you watching, be safe

Their knife pricing on the first store, specially was a bit high, you can get brand new shiny RR's for those prices. An interesting trip, they did have some cool stuff, thanks George.

The "Novartis" branding on the SAK was an old agricultural chemical company. They merged with another company and are called "Syngenta" now. Makes sense as many of the other knives in this booth were agricultural companies and Seed companies (corn hybrids and the like) likely given away as promotional items. The SAK looked like a Climber or Hiker model, definitely not worth $70, they sell new for much less especially if you can find them on sale.
@2ndchancegeorge6 күн бұрын
Ahh, good info. Yep over priced for sure. Thanks for watching

If I buy 2 or 3 items, I always ask for a discount. The prices there looked a bit steep. I live in Oregon and was a collector of the older Gerber knives

Well, that's it George! It's all your fault. Your channel has increased awareness of the treasures to be had antiquing. You've officially driven the price of vintage pocket knives through the roof! WOW! ( Just kiddin', Buddy🤣) They want way too much for those pocket knives, that's for sure.
@2ndchancegeorge6 күн бұрын
Lol...Not me on my budget....driving prices down. Unfortunately thier cost of doing business has thier prices up. But yes most times just little silly. Be safe my friend

Thanks for another sweet journey you brought us with George, I really liked that Swedish barrel folding knife pretty piece right there, I agree with you those antique shops are way to expensive sometimes, I hope you’ll find that imperial fishing knife somewhere else for the right price. Until then you stay warm and thanks again for sharing 🎉🎉🎉🎉

Pretty pricey for knives in very poor condition. I realize they have value especially if they are not made anymore but the conditions suggest that these knives were not taken care of at all. Pocket warn is one thing but abuse warn is another.
