I've actually took celebrity singers voice, and tried to see if I could hear the voice I wanted. But, sometimes, it wasn't a pleasant site. I can't really do a high pitched sound that well, to be honest, it's not good at all. Sometimes when I try to match the voice, it can be either good, or bad. Sometimes I can find that right one, but then it can go up or down with a certain note.

It's funny, I was told when I was younger that I had a great voice, but I always said, "No, I'm just good at mimicking good singers." Totally agree with this. Another thing that usually happens to more seasoned artists/bands is that, when they get to a certain level, they start doing their own thing and forget their influences, or at least think that their good enough without them. It doesn't take too long until they start hiting walls creativelly. In my humble opinion, the secret to be successful in music business is to keep listening to new stuff, be inspired by it, and use it as part of your arsenal when you are composing. It doesn't matter how big you are, be humble enough to learn from less known artists.

Fabulous and true! I've never taken voice because I was just too worried about being heard and the risk of not being good enough. I kept to Competitive, Classic A Capella throughout my teens. I wasn't the sole focus of attention. We did grear. All of the groups we'd formed from our A Capella Choir, as well as the choir itself, Won State my Sophmore year. It was a sweep. And I was really happy! But I would be lying if I said I didn't regret taking voice and singing my soul out. I have always been crazy about singing. I literally sing constantly. I’ve loved everything from 50’s music to now and most genres. It took me a long time to get my confidence back after being made fun of by my family for my ugly faces when I sang. I finally realized that there are many artists that make ugly faces when they are singing. It would be awesome if you could make a video about things like this so maybe another kid or adult doesn’t waste as many years as I did hiding my singing because of idiots in their lives.

I can relate to emulating so many different styles and artists, both male & female, as I have mastered them (I think, and have been told) relatively well over the years, but struggle a lot more these days as I posted in another video, with my voice and crackly sound. I am annoyed by this, though it is not too obvious to the average patron in a pub/venue.

I want to sound like my version of John Michael Talbot! He sings Biblical Psalms and themes that raise my heart to prayer, praise and thankfulness toward God.

Your voice would be amazing for a You Make Loving Fun (Fleetwood Mac)cover. I haven’t found any covers with a males voice.

If you are working my program, I recommend a minimum of 1 hour per day, 5 to 6 days per week, to make steady progress. 😊

Absolutely Ken. I’m 59 and started doing the Karaoke thing as an excuse to get out of the house about a year ago. I thought I was country but as I’ve put in many hours practice and I started including other genres in particular Eric Burden. I got depressed because I couldn’t hit some of the tough notes and was ready to quit singing, feeling inadequate. I was lucky one night at the karaoke bar. A guy named Toby Rand (Rockstar Supernova) told me how much he loved “my tone” gave me a few tips and because of his encouragement and I’m still plugging away. To your point. I listen to many varieties of requests My first instinct was to say, that’s not what I do but I’ll try. These requests are all over the map genre wise but it’s so true that learning these different styles increases your toolbox allowing you to make different choices but also I now have a broader range and can slip different inflections in a song to make it unique. Thanks for giving back here on YT. Your humble fan, Gregory Clinton.
